- Stand outside of Target for 2 hours to purchase a Deluxe Wii-U. Spend more money on NSMBU, Scibblenauts, Black Ops 2, Gamepad Case & Pro Controller (over $600 total cost).
- Open system. Notice rainbow marks on Gamepad. Concerned that the display may be damaged.
- Hook up system, wait a very long time to download an update that takes up just over 15% of my hard drive space (5GB).
- Notice that menus, games, & apps take a very long time to load. Transitioning through the system is painfully slow.
- Play new games with my kids. System freezes and makes a loud beeping noise 6 times over the matter of a few days.
- Call NOA. Describe issue with Gamepad, loading times, and system freezing. Instructed to package up and send in my system for repair.
- Without system for 7 days. No confirmation e-mail or any form of communication from Nintendo.
- Looking forward to getting system back, I sign up for free 2 week trial of Hulu Plus. Looking forward to having Netflix access on my main TV again as I traded in my Wii and Xbox 360 when the Wii-U was released.
- System arrives back today with a generic catch-all note that says "We have verified your problem and have repaired the defective component(s)".
- Unpack Gamepad...... still has same rainbow marks on the screen as when I sent it in.
- Hook up Wii-U, discover that all my save data from my new games has been lost. Also have to go through system set-up again. Fortunately the system is up-to-date.
- Navigate through the system, no improvement on loading/transition times.
- Notice that Netflix, Hulu Plus, and YouTube are no longer on my Wii-U menu.
- Go to eShop to re-download apps. Get error code 105-0642 trying to download anything. Get same error code trying to update any games. Kids are confused as to how to get around the error code when they try to play NSMBU.
- Hulu Plus free trial is being wasted as I can't actually download the app (which was installed and on my system before I sent it in).
- Call NOA. Describe error code issue. No one seems to know what it means. They ask for my information and say I will be contacted by a manager in 24 hours.
- Sit and wait, feeling very disappointed with the company that I have supported since saving chore money for months to buy the original NES in 1987.
