I bought my system on launch day. The first week of use, I had 5 instances where the system would freeze up and make a constant buzzing type sound. The console was fully unresponsive, the only thing I could do is unplug the unit and plug it back in.
Additionally, my gamepad had weird "rainbow" type marks on the screen in the left and right corners. These were there from when I initially opened the unit.
I was asked by Nintendo support to send everything in for repair. A little over a week later, I got everything back with a note saying that they were able to duplicate my issue and have send me a replacement system.
Upon checking the replacement stuff, I found that the rainbow marks on the gamepad were still there (not fixed), and I was sent a brand new Wii-U. Because the system was new, I lost all the save data I had for Mario, Scribblenauts, Black Ops 2, and Nintendo Land.
I hooked up the new system and set everything back up. When I tried to update a game or download anything from the eShop, I received the error code 105-0642 and was not able to complete the download/update. This was a problem for a little over a week. I was hesitant to play my games as I didn't want to lose save data again and no one at Nintendo seemed to know what was causing the problem.
I finally got that fixed and Nintendo deposited a $10 credit to my eShop account for the hassle.
I thought everything was fine. My kids just got Skylanders Giants yesterday for Xmas. They played it today and the game has frozen and making that same constant buzzing sound AGAIN!!!
This has now happened on two occasions and here I am back to square one. I tried to call Nintendo Support and the rep that assisted me was completely unhelpful. He didn't seem to know what to do and just offered to have me send my system back to Nintendo AGAIN!!!
I am sorry, but at this point I am furious. I understand that this is new tech, but this is ridiculous! All I want is to be able to play the system that I shelled out a bunch of money to play!
