Hi folks,
So I was playing New Super Mario Bros. U (with Wiimotes), and after I finshed playing, I pressed the home button on the gamepad. The touchscreen was unresponsive, though, so I figured it was just a hitch, and I pressed the "Wii U Menu" on screen with the Wiimote. However, upon returning to the Wii U Menu, the gamepad was still unresponsive.
I turned off and on the Wii U, and the touchscreen was still unresponsive. Even more problematic is the fact I can not log into the Wii U now, due to the fact I have to enter my account password on the touchscreen. The screen itself is not frozen, just the touchscreen is unresponsive. I used the touchscreen to start NSMBU, however I don't recall using it in-game, so the problem may have started then.
I unplugged the power cable from the Wii U, waited 30 seconds, still no response. I tried resyncing the Gamepad, which made the touchscreen register the press as if you were touching the bottom right or so of the screen, no matter where you touch. I wanted to try recalibrating the Gamepad touchscreen, but from my understanding I can only do that if I'm logged in, which is impossible to do, as I can't seem to navigate the on-screen keyboard with the D-pad or the analog sticks. Understand that the gamepad doesn't appear to be frozen, the screens still change and move as they should, the touchscreen simply is not working. I have not dropped or damaged the gamepad at all.
As you can imagine, this situation is very frusturating, so any help or information is greatly appreciated.
