I want to carefully download a game before wrapping the Wii U for under the tree

From what I've found on youtube videos, I need to

1. use gloves to keep it smudge free
2. do a system update
3. make the first Mii?
4. Download Super Mario 3D World and Windwaker HD from the eShop
5. remove the first Mii?
6. put it back in the box
7. hide it until Christmas

Is there any flaw in my plan? (specifically regarding the Mii / first account?)

I don't want to expose Santa not being the gifter, my parents have worked too hard to undo that one.

I don't want to hear them complain when the games have to download. (ungrateful little siblings cried over the fact that they had to wait an hour for a download when I paid off their pokemon digital copies)
