I purchased a Wii U recently and today I was able to finally get it set up. I got through the setup and was setting up my resolution when I ran into an unexpected problem. (Side note: I did perform the system update before making this discussion topic)
I know before one of the last Firmware updates, Nintendo added an option to resize the screen for gamers who had an issue with the overscan problem, but it's only seemed to fix part of the problem. When setting my TV to 720p, I can use the screen resizer to make it fit perfectly, but when I set it to 1080p and use the screen resize, it still does not fit properly. Instead, I am left with the black letterbox bars at the top and the bottom or the screen and the screen is still cut off about a 1/4 inch to the left/right.
Is anyone else still experiencing this problem after the screen resize option being added or am I alone in this? If you did experience it, any tips on correcting it? I'd much prefer to play in 1080p than 720p.
