Hello Everyone;

I have created this thread to keep people up-to-date on the current Nintendo Network situation as well as help direct some people to the proper support channels. I realize this is a fraustrating situation for us all (I too have games that I wish to download and play over the break but I cannot) but heres hoping I (as well as other contributers) could help you alieviate some of your fraustrations concerning this issue.

Please if you have any questions on error codes, network status, getting through the the proper support channels, or anything else I will try to guide you in the best manner as possible. Please note, however, that I do not work for Nintendo and so I cannot give you any estimations on when the network to be up and running and if I do not know the answer to any question I will try my best to direct you to someone who works at Nintendo who knows what is going on.

Below I will list some updates to the service for Wii U and 3DS:

2DS/3DS/3DS XL:

-eShop (and in-game DLC) is accessible in most regions but is unstable; if you get errors please press the HOME button on your system and close the eShop and start it again.

~Please note that according to Nintendo's Twitter account the eShop will go down for temporary emergency maintanance between 4 PM ET (1 PM PT, 10 PM CET, 6 AM Japan time) today, and lasting through 4 AM ET (1 AM PT, 10 AM CET, 6 PM Japan time).

-Update servers are currently available though maybe unstable depending on your region

-Pokemon Bank - The cloud storage service to store Pokemon online and transfer between games has been delayed in North America and Europe until the network issues have been resolved.

-Online services for Pokemon X & Y appear to be working at this time

-Online services for other Nintendo games appears to be working at this time

-Miiverse is working

-System transfers are working right now but because at one point the system needs to connect to eShop I recommend not doing any transfers at this time

Wii U:

-eShop (and in-game DLC) is accessible in most regions but is unstable; if you get errors please press the HOME button on your system and close the eShop and start it again.

~Please note that according to Nintendo's Twitter account the eShop will go down for temporary emergency maintanance between 4 PM ET (1 PM PT, 10 PM CET, 6 AM Japan time) today, and lasting through 4 AM ET (1 AM PT, 10 AM CET, 6 PM Japan time).

-Update servers are currently available though maybe unstable depending on your region.

~If there is an update error during the downloading portion of the update please simply go to the download manager (by pressing the HOME button and pressing "Download Management") and then pressing retry though usually it retries by itself. You do not need to restart a download in most cases if it is interuppted the Wii U will simply continue the download from where it left off. Please note that updates can be over 500 MB so the download will take sometime to compelete depending on your connection and of course the volume on the servers. Please do not turn off your system when it is installing updates as that can permanatly damage your unit.

-Miiverse is working

-Nintendo TVii is working

-Online features for most Nintendo games appears to be working

Nintendo's customer service line is (if the line is busy you will be asked to call back later but if you do it frequently enough you will most likely get through, I know it is fraustrating because that is what I had to do this morning but unfortunatly this is how the situation is right now):

1-800-255-3700

Their customer service email is:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform/

If you have any questions please post them below and I or other members of the community will try our very best to answer them. Meanwhile I will try to update this as the situation is changing & and answer as many questions as I can.

I sincerely wish you and your families a happy holiday and hopefully a great new year
