So I know this is a problem now after looking online, but I decided to trade in my day one Wii U 8gb for the Windwaker bundle in preparation for MarioKart 8, I wanted a new hard drive and something to pass the time until then. I assumed that the NNID acted like PSN ID's where I could sign into my new bundle no problem. GO FIGURE, A NINTENDO FAN MIGHT BUY ANOTHER WII U AND WANT TO LINK ACCOUNTS ON MULTIPLE WII U'S! It didn't work. I can't link WindWaker download to my NNID because Nintendo's system is terrible. I have lots of Club Nintendo points and can't link this Wii U to that account. I also lost ALL OF MY ESHOP PURCHASES!!!! Silly me for assuming I could just download my eshop purchases later on a brand new 32gb version of the same console.
This is a gripe post and I am sure it is an annoying one, but I don't really care. This is the last straw and I am trading in everything with a heavy heart (Wii U bundle, MH3U WiiU - still have 3DS version, Super mario Wii U games, Scribblenauts unlimited, Mass effect 3, Assassins creed for Wii U,Donkey kong tropical freeze, and Nintendo land). I don't feel appreciated as a Nintendo customer. Nintendo has done nothing to appreciate me as a day 1 Wii U owner. This NNID system shows Nintendo doesn't trust me and their actions against piracy are the most important thing to them. I am taking my business elsewhere. You will miss my expendable income that I formerly used on your product.
Can I have Nintendo unlink my NNID from my old console? Yes, but that is not good enough and it is a cumbersome phone process I shouldn't have to through after spending over $600 on two Wii U consoles (the day 1 8 gb and the windwaker bundle I bought recently). I bought MY console on Day 1 and should be entitled to MY games that I PAID FOR. I was blindsided by this and I am furious that I lost everything.
