So I just completed the 5.0.0 update today. Usually when I'm done I power down my console via the power button on the Wii U Console itself, not via the Gamepad. However now, since the update, when I do this an error shows up on the Gamepad saying that it can't communicate with the Wii U and to check if the Wii U is functioning properly and is in range (they are right next to each other). It makes sense that the Gamepad can't communicate with the Wii U since I just turned it off.
I have tried this with both standby mode on and off and both with the new Quick Start on and off. And when I turn off my console this way I continue to see this error on the Gamepad. All I can do is press and hold the power on the Gamepad for 4 seconds to power it down, and then I get the warning when I power the Wii U back up.
I don't know if this is relevant or not, but one of the times when I powerd down the console (Post 5.0.0 update) there was some pretty bad artificating (glitching) on the Gamepad after I powered down the console which would only go away if I separately powered down the Gamepad via the 4 seconds method.
Has anyone else experience this after taking the lastest update? If so, does anyone know what I can do about it?
Thanks!
