Wii U Gamepad Blue Light Fading, Will not connect to Wii U or turn on.

Hi there,

Purchased the Wii U today. I downloaded the update (did not run it in the background while gaming).

I received an error code that did not exist on the nintendo website (this seems to be a common theme here).

I restarted the system, and was brought to the "New User" set up, it's at this point that I can not longer turn on my Gamepad.

If I simply press the power button on the gamepad, it will do nothing. I have to hold it down for at least 5 seconds, after this I press it AGAIN and the blue light appears...then fades away. It will not connect to the Wii U.

The charger is working, but the only way it will charge is if it's plugged in (dock or direct), then I hold down the power button on the gamepad...release then press it again...just like the blue light fading process!

Could someone please advise on this? I plan on calling Nintendo tomorrow if I can't find a fix. I've removed and replugged in the battery...although I do not believe this is the issue. If I'm forced to send this system in for repair, can anyone share their experience with this (note: I'll be shipping from Toronto, Canada).

For the record, I'm a big supporter for nintendo. I've gone to bat many times defending the Wii U and it's potential - but in terms of feedback I have to admit I'm extremely disappointed with the experience thus far.

Thanks,
