A friend just got a Wii U and it locked up on them while the downloading an update in the background. After selecting to download in the background, they went to settings and the screen is locked up with 'System Settings' screen just loading.
They said they "went through the whole setup, picked a mii and everything and then landed at the main menu. I went to Settings to check the connection and it hung."
Is it safe for them to reboot the machine? They wanted to call Nintendo support but are closed and are hoping that someone here might have a good idea if they are safe to restart the machine.
Thanks,
Chris
