i've been having the same problem a lot of other users are with my wii u. my gamepad won't stay connected to it no matter the distance. it can be on top of the console, three feet away, ten feet away, etcetera, it can't maintain a connection. i have my console set up in my college dorm, which, i know, has a ton of wireless activity. the reason why i would like to feel that it's unrelated is because the first month or two when i moved in, it worked perfectly and i had none of these problems. all of a sudden, the connection issue started plaguing my system and i can't use my gamepad at all. if i'm extremely lucky i can use it for a matter of minutes before it disconnects; otherwise it cuts out immediately. so, after looking tirelessly through various forums trying to find a solution, i decided to call nintendo and they told me i should send it in for repair. i did, and they swapped my gamepad out. a little over two weeks later, i got it back. i was really looking forward to it because i haven't yet been able to play Windwaker HD AND Super Mario 3D World comes out in under two weeks which i'm so ready for. much to my surprise, the brand new gamepad is having the same problems as soon as i turn it on. they didn't swap out the console so it could be that, or it could be something related to my college dorm environment. i really don't know. both of these are the from the wii u basic package. if anyone has any new or helpful information on this subject, please reply with any suggestions you may have. really sick of this issue
