To provide some background, it happened approximately a half-hour before I posted this. I was on my way home from a friend's house who I had visited. The Wii U was in the trunk of my car and I was inside for no more than 45 minutes. The kicker is, they didn't break anything, so I have no way of proving that they forcefully entered. Anyways, I went to check on the Wii U after I noticed in their frantic search for something valuable they forgot to put back all the papers and various item I have in my car to their rightful places. So, now that I have given some insight into the regrettable situation, what can I do as a customer to protect myself? For instance, I'm obviously going to call to see if I can cancel my purchasing option through the eShop without having to use my now stolen system.
I've already planned to make the proper calls to Nintendo Customer Service as soon as their lines are open for callers. Going to the police to report it is also an option, but one that I don't see much merit in, since they did not damage the car and also because I'm sure the feds could care less about a game system when other, more urgent crimes are taking place. I would welcome any suggestions at this point.
Thank you for taking the time to read this/help me.
