I've just discovered that my 2nd Wii U power cord has bit the dust and will not power my Wii U.
This is rather frustrating as my 1st power cord died about 27 days after the original manufacturers 1yr warrarnty thus I had to buy a new one at full price. The new cord worked fine for 7 or 8 months (need to check how long it has been) then suddenly this morning - nothing (yet it worked fine last night).
We only get to use our Wii once every 2-3 weeks due to our busy schedule so to have it die repeatedly with very minimal use seems really odd.
When I read the official warranty info on this site, I now read that the replacement power cord (accessory) doesn't come with the same 1yr warranty that the original unit did and only has a 90 day warranty! (like you might expect a refurbished device to have)
I have power cords/bricks for laptops, X-Boxes, Playstations, Gameboys, and every tablet/smartphone you can imagine (through my work) and none of them have failed even once.
So my question is... is this really true? only a 90 day warranty? Why is there no faith in the lifespan of these accessories?... how can I get a proper warranty for this and a deep discount on a replacement accessory that shouldn't fall apart so soon?
