Here is a letter I typed to Namco, and Nintendo suggeted I have posted on the forums. I will continue to discuss if replies are posted.
The GameCube Port Adapter lets you use Game Cube controllers on Super Smash Bros. Wii U. Will it work on Wii games in Wii mode that were made for the GameCube controller during the time Wiis had GameCube Ports? And more importantly, will it work with Active Life Pads on Active Life games? (and Dance Dance Revolution too, but you can't answer for Konami)
Maybe you should update the Wii mode in Wii U and more modern Wiis (namely ones without GameCube Ports) with a firmware update that will make it accept GameCube ports via the accesory if it doesn't have GameCube Ports currently. I understand it will only work with games designed for the Game Cube controller on the Wii, not update all games to accept them. That requires changing hundreds of games.
Finally I've a general suggestion: Active Life can do one thing well that a Balance Board cannot, cardio-sprint calorie burns. My suggestion is to make authorized augments for existing games as DLC where running can turn a great game into a great exergame, without ruining it too much. Since you already have a Partnership with Nintendo for Pac-Man Vs and Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS, maybe can make a DLC augment for Mario Kart called "Mario Pedal Kart" where instead of just holding down the 2 button on the wii mote, you have to "pedal" or literally run on the Active Life mat to locomote. Or in Splatoon, make it you when in humanoid form, you have to run to make your squid run. The faster you run, the faster the character goes.
In Mario Pedal Kart, instead of statistics like top speed and acceleration, you'd have pedal speed augment (like 2 steps/second = so many meters/second), pedal acceleration augment, coasting speed, uphill pedaling, offroad pedaling, and statistics more relevant to pedal karts compared to motorized karts. But for those who don't have an Active Life pad, a semi-automatic mode, where the faster you rapidly press the 2 button on the wiimote, the faster you go.
And while you're at it, most battle courses feel like linear chases and head-on reactions than more dynamic chases, mainly because you're on a linear track, but use a Pac-Man maze and other similar 2d and 3d multiple-choice, multiple-direction, optimized-for-battle courses, kind of like what Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 had. And throw in Pac Man and the 4 ghosts as characters, A Galaxian Mothership as a (pedal- or motorized-) kart, and you've got a complete DLC set.
Finally, make the Calroie Burner division, the Thumb Sprainer (semi-automatic), and the Couch Potato division 3 separate divsion for the purposes of matchmaking and record keeping. Having a separate calorie burner and thumb sprainer division encorages people becuase your calorie burng division score doesn't effect your couch potato score or vice versa. Also gives you more things to be champions of.
