I posted in someone else's threads previously regarding my GamePad range issue, which started 2-3 weeks ago. My Wii U was purchased on launch day and has been perfect until then.
Suddenly, the GamePad range became very poor and is almost unplayable even in the same room. Currently the range seems to be about 4-5 feet with a clear line of sight, and 0 without a clear line of sight.
I've tried several suggestions seen on this forum and others about ways to mitigate the problem. I've ensured that there is sufficient electrical power going to the system, there are few wireless networks in my area (it's a single family house), and there is nothing immediately near the system.
One thing I have noticed is that when there is anything between the system and the front left corner of the GamePad (the area of the power connector), the connection is immediately broken. I fear this may mean there is a hardware issue with the wireless chipset in either the GamePad or the system itself. Normal wireless internet for the system is working well, but that is using the 2.4 GHz WiFi network that I have, not 5GHz as the console-GamePad connection uses.
I'm currently at a loss with this problem and am leaning toward having to send the system and GamePad in for repair. Any advice before I start the repair procedure? Thanks in advance.
