My gamepad's connectvity to the console has been getting worse and worse for several months. Now its to the point where my kids have to sit within 3 feet of the console in order to use the gamepad. To top it off last week the disc drive stopped reading ANY disc. (Yes I'm using legit WiiU discs in WiiU mode, and/or Wii discs in Wii mode). It's less than a year old and already junked! Now my bigger problem...
I can't call the US support because I moved out of the country, and the online support is a big black hole. No one ever responds. I even tried TunnelBear and Skype (which supposedly can call 800 numbers for free), but no dice.
On the flip side, I'm in Japan, home of nintendo. Should make things easier right? Well on the Japanese support site they say you have to have a warranty card with your WiiU to get support (without having to pay full price for repair). I don't think my US WiiU had one of those. And if it did, it's either in the trash or locked up in storage somewhere in the US.
People have been trash talking the WiiU since launch, and I've defended it saying it's good for what it does, even if it doesn't do everything you might want a console to do. And that's inspite of the shoddy WiFi connection issues I had with it for the first few months after purchase, but now this...
Anyone out there know what I can do? Is there anything? Am I just out the $250+$200 in games unless I pay for repairs or buy a new system? Come on Nintendo, don't let me down.
