My Wii U gamepad is increasingly not turning the console on when I hit the gamepad's power button. It gives me an error screen and says to move closer and try again. But even right next to the console, it won't turn it on when this happens.
Console turns on fine with Wiimotes however, gamepad always works fine when I hit the power button on the console itself, no gamepad communication issues like the video stream cutting out, and the gamepad power button turns the console off just fine everytime without fail.
It was fine when I got this last Christmas and was fine for a number of weeks afterwards, but the probelm has grown to where the gamepad almost never turns the console on anymore. Any tips? I don't understand what sort of technical issue this is since the gamepad and console obviosly can communicate to each other just fine. It's just that prompt to boot the console that isn't working.
