Update Issue.

So here it is in full:

I bought a Wii U on Dec. 26th. (at the time, it was version 1.0.3 U if i remember right). I held off on the big update for a few days to let x-mas/day after updates not be an issue for me. Connect to my internet, leave Wii U alone for 1 hour (it took almost exactly one hour) or so, to come back and get an error. No error #, just an error. The error basically said, "There was and error during the update prossess. The Wii U will now restart, if the issue continues contact Nintendo Support."

I figured it was just bad luck, so I attempted the update again. Same thing.

So here is what happens: Downloads update. Took almost exactly One hour. At the "install" the bar gets to 30%, freezes and up pops the error as said above.

I tried to update all day on Dec 28th. After 5 attempts I called Nintendo Support (5 hours of getting the same thing). Basically, I am like the only person to get this problem. Being under warranty, I sent it in for repair. I mailed it out last week on the 3rd. It returned on the 9th (Yestrday from the time of me typing this).

Letter that came with my system informs me "they" were not able to get the problem to accur (duplicate the issue). Ok?

Plug it all back up to the TV, see that I have a different Menu/what I see on screen. Cool! Check version of Wii U, and it is now at 2.0.0 U.

That is not the current firmware version . . .

(2.1.0 is?)

So ok, I should be able to get online now, and really this is all I want. To fully be able to use my Wii U to it's fullest current ability. Go to get on youtube (had a video to share with the family, hey! lets check it out on the Wii U!) and I am informed I need to do an update.

Ok, update go! 40min!? Sure ok. I walk away and come back 45 minutes later, and I am either having horrible luck or something is truly wrong. I get the same error as above. No error code #, just that there was a problem and system will now restart. But guess what? It does not restart, the screens (both TV and Tablet Controller) just go black (not "turned off black" just nothing on screen black) when I hit confirm. I have to unplug the Wii U, power off tablet controller, replug system to turn it back on.

I attempted twice last night. The 2nd time I sat there for the full 45min (for download) and it again froze at 30% while "installing."

So here I am. I can call support again this weekend, to ...what? Get no where. I have no error code, and if the error can not be duplicated at the NA Nintendo repair shop, it is doing no good to send it in (I'm confused as to why the system was not just updated to current firmware while in the shop ).

I'm really hopeing I'm not the only one who is/has/had this issue. I have 3 options I can think of;

1) Hopefully return it to where I bought it for full refund. Not something I want to do at all. Nearing 3 weeks purchased now.

2) Nothing else in my house has an issue via the internet. I'd rather not spend $15-$30 on a USB Ethernet Adapter, but this would be the only way to eliminate that something is going wrong via wireless download (Wii U was the only thing "connected" last night during 2nd attempt). I can't really take my system somewhere else to try and update.

3) Hopefully we can get this resolved via support here?

Any suggestions, more questions if I didn't cover something (pretty sure I covered it all), just anything would be awesome if it gets my system to it's fullest.

So yea,

Thanks for any help from anyone.
