Hey Everyone. I have Telus satellite, which uses the same satellite and for the most part HD boxes as Bell. I have called and sent an email to Nintendo with no resolve. Basically I am just wanting them to get this information so they can update their supported HD box database. When you search for supported boxes on their help section they support a model 9341 for Telus which does not exist. The real model is 9241 for the HD PVR and 6141 for the HD receiver.
When you look up supported models for Bell, the 9241 is apparently supported. However even if I am to select Bell as my provider on the TV remote setup it makes no difference, ti does not work. Apparently Dish Network also uses the same receivers but still it does not work. I would very much like my Wii remote to be able to work as a universal remote for my TV and satellite, it would be great. It works for my LG TV BTW.
So anyway, this is a heads up to Nintendo to go over their supported receiver database for their remote function. The proper Telus satellite box models are 9241 and 6141. Bell has 3 receivers I believe and two of them are the same models Telus uses, in general they should probably go through their entire list of supported providers and double check all the model numbers and signals.
Also if anyone else is having issues with their provider and the remote function, lets use this thread as an information report for Nintendo, thanks and take care.
