Hello! This is my first post here, so I'll try to include everything...
With the recent announcement regarding the Wii U VC service, I really want to get my VC games onto my Wii U (Mario RPG on the GamePad?! YES please!). Having read a few sites and the support area, I figure that I can do that with a transfer. The only thing is that I really want to keep everything on my Wii. Now, I know that when you do a transfer, everything is wiped off of the source Wii. I was wondering if, before the transfer, I can copy everything I can onto an SD card (I know Brawl/MK Wii won't make it onto the card - that's fine.), do the transfer with all of my VC games, and then load all of the save data back onto the source Wii?
I don't know if, after the transfer, you get locked out from doing something like that, but I figure that technically it should work. I tried to find more about it, but couldn't so I ended up contacting Nintendo on 2 occasions. The first time I called, the rep said it couldn't be done, and that I'd be locked out, but the second time, they said that I should be able to do it just fine. I'm very wary to try anything now, so I turned to the forums...
Also, if that is possible, is there a way to get the Miis back onto the Wii, like through a Wii remote or something like that, for games like Wii Sports Resort or Wii Music that use the Miis for save files? Just wondering.
