First, I would like to note that I had no problems initially setting up my Wii U to use my router and have not changed any settings on my router since then.
The other day, my kitchen's circuit breaker went out, temporarily disabling my router. When I turned it back on, everything seemed okay. That is, until I turned on my Wii U. It began telling me that I didn't have an internet connection anymore. Thinking the Wii U just wanted to confirm the settings after the outage, I reinput the settings as usual.
However, when it gave me the list of devices I could connect to, it now showed 0 bars for my router (which originally was full). Neither device has moved from their original locations... Additionally, it refuses to connect to it at all, regardless of how I try. I've tried manually configuring it (+10 to the IPv4 address) and I've used the PIN/PBC options. When I manually configure, the Wii U attempts to connect, but gives me an error saying the device wasn't found. The PIN and PBC options time out, and the Wii U says the setup wasn't completed.
Why can I no longer connect with my router?
