Wii U gamepad smudges that wont go away?

A little while ago I bought some licensed screen protectors (HORI) for my wii u gamepad. I followed every step as followed, however due to some alignment problems, I had to remove the protector and got rid of it. The problem here now is that after that protector, my wii u gamepad keeps getting these weird smudges from the protector that was on it, like it's grease or something. It's easily removed by a good wipe of a screen wipe cloth, but after a day, it keeps coming back and I have to keep wiping it over and over, even when I don't play the wii u for a day. I want to know if I can fix this problem or if my gamepad is screwed... I specifically bought a licensed protector so I could avoid problems, but even with a licensed one, I managed to run into problems..
