Miiverse Is A Nanny-State

This is purely opinion, based upon my experience today. I'll be suprised as heck if it doesn't get pulled. After today, I would expect nothing less.

But here it goes:

After experiencing my own bologna dealing with the Miiverse admins, and their attempt to control anything but controlled happiness and friendliness, I'm considering replacing my Wii U for store credit and waiting on a next-gen console (as I already own an Xbox and PS3).

Nintendo so desperately wants to be considered for hardcore gamers and adults, but they have no idea on how to moderate Miiverse. Here's my issue, in which I received two warning for saying the same thing:

1. I posted on Black Ops 2 that I thought Wiimotes had a stronger aim assist compared to 6-axis, and suggested they were nerfed.

Do I now they do? No, but my experience playing against players with Wiimotes is this: 90% spray all over the screen, but can still get kills. It's really pathetic. I've also been sniped and killed when the bullet hit the cargo container 5 ft below my feet. Guess what? Headshot! lol. At any rate, I was frustrated and wanted to voice it. Several people replied agreeing. There are also great players with the Wiimote who will own anyone. I'm not harping on them. And I'm completely fine with getting beaten, as long as it seems as if I was shot. I was cool with a healthy debate, really. Afterall, I could be wrong and it could be lag or something else that I'm not noticing. I'm actually pretty agreeable, if you provide evidence

2. Another person's posts on Miiverse claiming that they've put me in my place 3 times before and goes on a rant about how the Wiimote is better than 6 axis, and that I'm just not seeing the killcam right, etc.

Honestly, I'm cool with his opinion. However, I've never even heard/seen this dude before... lol. I let him know as such, and that I have video proof, in game. But was open to his opinion.

3. Friendly debate goes back and forth, and then he asks me a question. I answer it.

4. He asks me the same question again. I answer with the same response.

5 He asks me the same question again. I reply. "You need to read better, because I've already answered your question."

6. He calls me a "troll." lol... I tell him that he wouldn't get so upset if, "he had better comprehendsion skills."

*So, I get up this morning and fire up my Wii U. I'm excited to see any postings for the new Lego City Undercover. I notice I have 2 messages in my Inbox. I open my inbox and see that I have violated Miiverse's code of conduct twice! I click on the links in each warning to read the posts that supposedly placed me in violation. They're the same posts as above in #5 and #6! I replied back with a pre-selected response - because offering the ability of a typed response would allow a user like me too much control? - that I don't believe I broke the code of conduct at all. Well, a few hours go by, and I receive a pre-written response that I had, in fact, violated the code of conduct and that they even viewed the posts.

Guys? What the heck!!! So, I was probably 'reported' for 'offending the reading skills of the guy who kept asking me the same question over and over.' What gives?

I'll be honest. I loved Miiverse. Being given these two warnings really brings me down about the Wii U. I don't want to feel like I am being Nanny'd. I don't want to feel like I can't post anything disgruntled (but friendly and no vulgarity) about the gameplay of a game.

I'm seriously considering just trading in my Wii U. Hasty, ya think? Perhaps, but consider that a thriving online component of gaming is something that keeps me gaming. It's something I love. However, if Nintendo is going to rule with an iron fist, I'm going elsewhere with my money (maybe a next-gen console).

If anything, I don't need to grow up. Nintendo and Miiverse do. You want adult gamers and the money that comes with them? You want the hardcore gamers money, like mine? Then treat us all like adults, and don't pull grade school garbage stuff like these two "violations."
