Around 10:00am central time 3-17-2013 I decided to make my first purchase through nintendo's e-shop. I decided to go with assasins creed 3. So I load 70.00 game is 64.00 dollars. All went very smooth. I was like man this is awesome I dont even have to get dressed get in the car drive to the closest gamestop and stand in line. What a great idea right? Well, after what I have experienced thus far this will be my first and last purchase of anything through the e-shop unless there is some serious updates or setting that can be adjusted. Maybe im doing something wrong? I did some research it seems that most people are being told to just deal with it. Well right now its 8:45pm central time. The download still has 21 hours left to go. I spent 400+ on the console with the memory upgrade quick charger and nintendo land. I do not have a basic set is what I am getting at. I have even tested my speeds on the wii u verse my laptop vs my tablet vs my iphone. It seems that the wii u is running about 1/4 of what the speed that my other devices are running. The wii currently sits about a foot away from my wireless router. I even hard wired to see if that helped *it didnt* actually made it worse. I would like this to be a situation of hey go here do this and boom done fixed over and done with. Doesnt seem by all of the information I have gathered that it will be the case whatsoever. So my questions is what is Nintendo doing to fix this issue or is there something on the users end that can drastically lower my estimated time? Hopefully, someone can shed somelight on this situation. I do want to rant just a little more about a few other things as well. I bought the system last Sunday for my sons 6th birthday. Of course when we bring it in all the kids want to hook it up and see what it is all about. So I did. Before we could play the system update took about 1-2 hours and then about another 45 minutes of installation time. Needless to say that was very disapointing not to just my son and his friends but to me and my pocket book. I feel that a system with this type of technology should have the capability to download things within a reasonable time frame. I might be mistaken but hasnt the xbox 360 been out for about 6-7 years? I have downloaded several games, map packs and system updates and its literally no time at all. My frustration is growing by the second. Maybe a helpful disclaimer in the e-shop letting folks know that dowloads take 1-2 days might help. I think its a brillant idea to have full title games available for purchase right from the console but in my opinion I think Nintendo shouldnt be releasing certain features if they dont live up to todays standards like other devices. It almost puts me to a point of wanting to grab the reciept and go back to gamestop and get a refund and not even deal with this sillyness. I know I am ranting and talking bad about the system but this is a huge deal to me and the way we use this device. This needs to be fixed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me vent and I hope that enough people experience this same issue and we can get something resolved. On just one last note maybe im a big big dummy and there is a solution and I just dont know it and I can fix this by a setting even if it does make me look like a retard just as long as there is a fix I could live with the embarassment. I WANT TO PLAY ASSASINS CREED NOW !!!! THE TRAILERS WERE AWESOME !!! I WILL GO CRY IN THE CORNER UNTIL SOMETHING IS SAID OR DONE !!!
