I have a brand new Wii U and so far I have been unable to get it to turn on all the way. It gets the where it says wii u and then it just stays there so I am unable to connect the game pad or remotes.
Any ideas?

I looked around, but nobody is having quite the same problems as me. Please, I need this thing to be fixed for tommorow.
Below is a video showing what happens every time.

I tried unplugging it for 10 minutes then try again, but no luck. ;(
Just bought the last wiiu from gamestop. Setting it up right now, and though it seems to work alright so far, the console is making a ton of noise. It's a sort of weird whirring, buzzing noise. Haven't even put in a disk or anything yet, and it's... ridiculously loud.
Who should I send it back to, so that it can be repaired?
I just got my Wii U as an early Christmas gift, and I was extremely excited to play it. However, upon the initial setup, I get to the Nintendo Network ID part and cannot progress.
I want to use an existing ID (created on my 3DS), and so I enter all the correct info, but then it refuses to connect to the internet without receiving a system update, and tells me to go to the system settings, which is impossible during the initial setup of the system. So I figured to maybe unplug my router and see if it can progress with the setup without the internet, and it won't allow that either. Error code 102-2511. Even the database for errors has absolutely info on this, which frightens me.
I don't know why Nintendo would set up a catch-22 like this. Can't access internet during setup without the update, can't update without being able to get to the Wii U menu, can't get to the Wii U menu until I connect to the internet during setup.
I'm seriously disappointed in Nintendo for making it literallyimpossible to get this system running without an internet connection if there's an issue. I just want to have this system up and running for the family tomorrow for our Christmas Eve get-together, but this seems unlikely.
got nephews the super mario and luigiu bundle but missing the nintendo game club and manual that comes with the game and the nintendo code for the console itself.
Most of my presents were games, which need downloads, DLC, or are in the form of eshop cards......so pretty much my Christmas is shut down until it's all resolved. Does anyone know when it might be fixed? Was Nintendo not prepared to actually sell anything? (They were the number one selling gaming company for Best Buy for the Holidays.....)
In setting up for first time the game pad won't sync. Unrecognized error code of 165-3000. I have tried unplugging and reconnecting and even resetting game pad with same error message. One time it let me enter the symbols...but then went back to error. Does anybody recognize this code? Little kids very disappointed on Xmas morning...
I started the initial set up on wiiu but it froze so, I turned everything off and started again.......I have done that about 15 times now and it will sometimes let me get further in the process, even got as far as internet setup before last freeze. Is this a network issue of too many people or is my system defective?
When I try to calibrate my gamepad with my TV in this game (It's my first time with this game so I need to calibrate it), it crashes .
I aim the gamepad to the tv, then I press the L button, and here there are two possibilites.
1) The calibrate doesn't work and it says that I need to calibrate again.
2) When I calibrate the gamepad again, It crashes, and I have to turn off and turn on the wii u.
It's my FIRST time with this game, that's why I need to calibrate, and I don't know why it CRASHES.
Please help me.
My niece just recieved her game unit back from repair after being stuck on the logo screen, it ran an update and now only displays the logo screen again. We have tried leaving it on for long periods of time, rebooting it by holding the power button until it shuts down, restarting it, unplugging it and restarting it, cursing and screaming, none of these steps has proven fruitful. I see that the network is down, but should we expect any change in behavior when it is restored, or is this unit bricked?
Hi, my girlfriend received a Wii U (Deluxe Set) for Christmas and after charging the GamePad and hooking up the Wii U, we've come to notice that no matter what I do, the GamePad refuses to pair with the Wii U itself. I'll Sync both devices and input the symbol code, and then 9 times out of 10 I'll get the "Could not connect to a Wii U" error. The other time it'll go to a Nintendo screen and promptly tell me it can not sync with the Wii U, please restart the GamePad and try again. I'm quite frustrated, can someone please help?
Hey guys,
This is my problem with the Wii U i just got for Christmas. I was going through the steps for my intial setting up of my Wii U. When I got to the part where it asked if I wanted to make a new Nintendo Network ID or if i wanted to connect and existing one.
I clicked connect an existing one. Used my log in info and then I got:
Error Code:102-2511
In order to use online services, a system update is required.
Go to System Settings to perform a system update.
So I click the only option OK
Then it brings me back to if I want to Enter my Nintendo Network ID information, with an okay or cancel. If I hit okay it just brings me to logining in nintendo Network ID info again. If I hit cancel it just brings me to if I want to make a new one of link an existing one.
At this point I the home button does nothing, I can't skip the ID set-up part and I can't get past this part of the set up. The Wii U never asked me at any point during the set up about a system update, like i am seeing in Wii U set up videos.
Can anyone help me out or do I just have to wait call nintendo in the morning or return my Wii U? I'm really rather upset. Since I waited a month and a half for this gift. Only have Christmas day off for my work week and won't be able to play with my system until MAYBE saturday if I can figure out what is up with this Wii U.
So I went through and created a NNID and towards the end it gave me an error and canceled it. The problem is now the Name I chose is already in use but it's really unlikely that someone else actually took it. I was able to log in on the miiverse website but it won't let me link. I think there may have been some error with the e-mail address, it's possible I entered it wrong twice.
NNID: Zephyrus9999
E-mail should be genowhirl9999@gmail.com
Bought my kid the Wii U but can't seem to set the thing up. I have an older model TV and it does not have an HDMI port. Where do I go from here in order to set the thing up?
What's the deal with the system transfer? It seems that if I do it my Wii will be wiped clean. I don't plan on getting rid of it so I don't want it erased. Is there a way to move game save data between the systems?
I just got a new Wii U and was setting it up this morning. When it got to the update part it failed obviously because the servers are down. It then skipped the update and went to add a new user. Now when I want to link my existing ID it tells me that either it encounterd an error and trying again later which is probably the server issue but I also get an error sometimes saying that the system needs to be updated to use online features.
im afraid that the wii u cannot link my id because the update failed and now there's no way back and I can't access the main menu either. Do I need to have my Wii U replaced?
I got my new Wii U for Christmas this morning, turned it on and everything was fine. I created Miis so that I could play Nintendo Land, but as soon as I put the disc in, it asked for updates. I let it go and everything was fine, until it suddenly crashed at 80%, with Error Code 199-9999. It said to restart the console try again, but I keep getting the same error. As soon as I turn the console on it asks to update. I can't acess system settings or any other menus when I turn it on, so its basically in an infinite loop. When I start the update each time it starts at 10% then crashes at 11% with Error Code 199-9999.
I've tried every trick in the book to try and fix it but I haven't had any luck. I know Nintendo's servers are shot because of the Christmas overload, but I'm not sure if that would pretain to my issue. If it is the servers that are preventing it from properly updating, then I'll just have to wait it out and hope their servers are running again soon. I don't want to have to exchange my Wii U for another one but if this has to be the case I will reluctantly do it.
Any help would be much appreicateted.
All right. I've been trying to get on the eShop for 3 days now and I am getting fed up. I bought a $20 eShop card that I can't even use. I keep getting the error code 111-9000 And before you refer me to the same webpage that everyone gets referred to, I'll tell you it didn't work. I am quite capable of typing my wifi password in correctly. When I do a connection test it comes up totally positive with no problems, but whenever I try to use ANY internet related software on the WiiU I get shut down, I did update to the latest version of the system somehow, but even that was a chore on its own.
I tried looking around but most people managed to fix the issue by resetting they're router which I tried and came up with negative results. I believe my network is WPA2 secured, and it connects my 3DS and original Wii just fine to the internet, but for some reason my Wii U thinks it's too cool for my Wifi. It really frustrates me that I Can't even use Nintendo's new "And improved" console because I can't get online at all. When the system first came out (I got it at launch) I had issues connecting to the internet, but I fixed those by manually imputting the ip address and waht not.
I gave up on trying to sort the issue myself so I'm just going to shoot blind here and hope I hit someone who knows how to fix this issue.
All help is appreciated.
Hi,
Just out of the box. Tried 3 wii u games. Unable to read the disc. Tried 3 older games and it reads them. Seems odd to me, thoughts?
thx

So I just bought a Wii U Mario bundle and started setup, I confirmed our network connection was connection and it verified it was connected, but it told me there was an error connecting to the update server, figuring high traffic might be a partial cause I figured it could just be done later so I proceeded on to finish setup. It then took me to the Nintendo Network ID setup, and after entering my information it gives me an error saying I need to update before proceeding with any online actions (102-2135), but will not let me go to any screen before the Nintendo Network ID setup screen to even attempt to update again. Is there any way to force a system reset to restart setup, or just get into setup? Pressing the home key just says unavailable.
