Good day all,
This question has probably been asked before, but I can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere online. Basically, I bought a Wii U last Christmas, and after I did so I transferred all my Wii Shop channel games onto the Wii U console. Just recently, however, my Wii U with said shop channel games died out. I'm unsure of what happened to the console, but thankfully I bought an extended warranty at Target, and they told me they'd give me a replacement console or allow me to upgrade to the 32gb Wii U. So, I was going to go ahead and do that, but I want to see if theres any way I would be able to play my Wii Shop channel games that were on the Wii U on the new Wii U I will be getting. I read somewhere that this was possible so long as you have a Nintendo ID, but I just want to clarify, and perhaps be told how it is done. I have quite a few games on the Wii U (about 80 dollars worth) and I want to be able to make sure I can transfer them onto the new Wii U. If I cant do that then obviously I wil just send the Wii U to Nintendo for regular repairs, but I would like to take up Target on their offer and upgrade to the 32gb.
Just to clarify one last time, these are games I bought originally on the Wii Shop channel, then transferred to the now broken Wii U.
