Hi all, I purchased my Wii U yesterday and I believe I have one of the launch consoles as the stickers on it were dated back to December... anyways I began the start up process and made it to where it begins updating. As it starts this process I have a downloading bar on my gamepad and my TV screen simply has a bit of text on it talking about System Updates... my internet is very slow, 150kbps on an upload so I figured it would take some time for sure... so I check back about 30 minutes later and it's around 10% so I figure it's working... however almost 24 hours into the download my progress bar hadn't moved at all and my TV screen is still displaying the System Update information text it was before... I guess I began to grow curious as to if my internet was working or not so I turned my router off briefly to see if it would interrupt the connection or prompt anything... it didn't so I turned my router back on. At this point I think my system is frozen and I try pushing buttons on the gamepad which responds to no button presses, except the home key which shows a circle with a slash through it over the home logo in the upper left corner when I press it. So I try pushing the power button... then I try holding the power button... the system isn't responding to any of those either. I believed the system to be frozen at this point so I unplugged it for about a minute or so and plugged it in... the screen showed black and my Gamepad said it could not detect the Wii U system and to move closer. I pull the power plug from the system again and wait another minute or so... then I plug it in and it powers up, this time showing the Wii U logo on both the TV and Gamepad... and it cannot progress beyond this point. I've tried multiple times and each time it simply hangs on the Wii U logo screen.... is there any sort of fix for this, or should I simply go and exchange the system for a new one? Thank you for your time.
