Wii U Freeze During Update 3.1.0...

A while back, I tried to update my Wii U to version 3.1.0. I thought I was going to have a normal update with no problems, but no, not quite. After the first progress bar, where it says that it is preparing for the update, I got stuck on the blank screen with the Wii U emblem in the bottom right hand corner. I kept my system on for an entire day, went back to check it, still on the screen. Is anyboy else experiencing this? If so, can someone help me, I really want to get back to gaming. Thank you
