I have had my wii u since 2012, I have never had any problems with the system before. It was a typical day of playing videogames. I have used my 27 inch westinghouse TV for 2 years now. I was even playing on my tv this morning. I decided to play my wii u downstairs on the 60 inch LG TV, but it was connecting. I did not think anything of it, so I proceeded to playing legend of zelda: wind waker HD. I played for a couple of hours using the gamepad and save my progress and there was no problem. So I turned my wii u off and unconnected all of the cords. I then plugged everything back into my 27 inch westinghouse tv. It still wasn't working.
I started freaking out and then went on my laptop and googled possible solutions. Older forums told people to change the resolution setting to a lower setting. So I tried that, but it did not work, and the gamepad said: "Unable to apply setting. Check that your TV is on and that the TV and console are properly connected." So, I tried different HDMI cords nothing worked. I thought it was the HDMI cord itself so I plugged in my 2013 macbook pro (using the wiiu hdmi) into the 27 inch westinghouse TV. Everything worked perfectly. I then used another HDMI to connect the laptop to the TV everything worked.
I even check the gamepad TV remote settings on my 27 inch westinghouse tv. I could turn off the TV, change it's input setting change the channel and raise the volume. I do not understand what happen.
I just finished my first year in college and I was excited to just relax and play videogames all day. I took my westinghouse tv and my wii u to college with me. I would constantly play the wii u with my new college friends and it never had a problem, until now. And what makes matters worse, I just downloaded Legend of zelda: wind waker HD onto my Wiiu, because I got it as a free game because I register Mario Kart 8. I hope I don't lose the game. I do not know what to do.
On the older forums people were talking about getting the system repaired. How does that work.I dont want to send my wiiu to get repairs and never see it again. I certainly do not have the budget to buy a new wii u. I have the wii u deluxe set 32g.
