Apologies if this topic is already under discussion. I see a lot of topics about RGB Limited and black levels, but not this. Essentially, I've always calibrated my TV to HD color settings (Rec 709) and assumed it was correct for my games systems since they are HD output. This includes my Wii U. But now I'm wondering if ALL games are coded for 709 or if some video games still stick to 601 standard definition color encoding. I don't know what any of them truly put out. But I do know the Wii U's virtual console is off. Is Nintendo just messing up and leaving them in 601, or is the whole Wii U coded to 601? As you can see in the photo, the sky in Super Mario Bros. is now almost purple, and my tv is calibrated properly for HD content. It's driving me nuts!
Nintendo, please fix this!
