I've bought the SD card (2gb) and tried to pull my games off of the Wii to move to the Wii U and when I moved the SD card over to the Wii U, all it did when I put the game disc in, it acted like all I did was just put it in without transferring any data. Why? I then, ran back upstairs and put the SD card back into the Wii and moved the information back. . . .POOF there it was on my old Wii again, but wouln't move to my Wii U. I know how to do it, I've done that process correctly, but it just seems like it won't move the actual GAME PROGRESS (which is that PART I WANT!!!). I don't want to have to start these games over again from the beginning!
I've also read about moving all of the data from my "old" Wii to this new Wii U and it states that I need an SD card (I've got one) and when I put it into the Wii U it told me that it couldn't be used. HUH? WHY NOT? It worked with the Wii. (Well. . .it kind of worked, I guess.) I've heard that I need to "format it" but I have no idea how to do that. (I'm REALLY not very savy so I'll need a step by step process, please.)
I'm just very nervous because it says VERY CLEARLY that once I've "moved the data from the (old) Wii to the Wii U", it will be permanently deleted from the old Wii. Seeing has how it hasn't transferred any of my game progress, that's a scary proposition.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm trying to move the following games; Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Bros. Wii, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Donkey Kong Country Returns. . . .those are the BIG ones that we've gotten super far on.
