I usually find this when playing Mario Kart 8. It happens randomly and usually when I drift. I'll be turning to the left or right and out of nowhere I'll just start going forward until I hit a wall or something. Also when browsing the menu when shifting left or right with the control stick it will sometimes go up or down, although that one might just be me.
The mario kart 8 one is for sure a problem since the stick was all the way to neutral left and I still went straight forward.
