Error code 103-1207

Really? Googled it and literally 0 results? It seems to be telling me that this is an IP address error where the Wii U can't connect to the internet, even though it is hardwired into the router, because another device is using the same IP address which I find hard to believe considering I've tried 13 different IPs already.

Problem with HTML5 videos on Internet Browser.

So, one of my favorite features of the Wii U is being able to watch Youtube and other HTML5 sites with no problem on the big screen. It's super handy and great for get-togethers. But, there's a problem: It hasn't been working the last couple of weeks! Whenever I get to one of these pages it says there's an issue with the security certification (something that never happened before) and the page loads up all funky, not to mention the video player doesn't work.

I would really like this fixed. Please Nintendo?

Wii U Netflix app update

The new netflix app interface sucks.

The only positives i find are the multiple profiles and the browsing speed.

I now find it non-intuitive for the kids, who we use it for primarily.  It's a mess to find anything that they used to watch.  Also, we used to be able to see what was not selected, but with half the screen taken up by INFO about what happens to be selected, we cannot quickly browse without selecting every single title.  What a waste of time.

The fact that there is no option to turn off the display of the video on the wii pad means it must always be on its stand or the batteries die.  This is by far the most stupid feature I have ever seen.  Oh, the option to display it on the pad is great, but really...anyone having a WII U likely has an android table or ipad they can watch instead.  Like anyone using netflix on the Wii U, I use it to watch it on TV.  Why have a secondary distracting video (and god forbid the sound is on the wii pad)?  What moron of a developer thought this was the way to go?   They obviously didn't think that through at all.

No "LOL's" from me.  This is ****.  Fix it and give us an option to shut the wii pad display off without having to jump through hoops.

VGA Monitor

I am planning on buying a Wii U. Currently I only have a VGA / Dvi-d monitor (dell p2414h). This is only going to be a temporary thing as I am currently abroad and from January onwards I will have access to my TV again with HDMI.

I've been reading many things on adapters / converters etc. I think the easiest solution for me would be to go with a HDMI to VGA converter. Again, I wouldn't mind any decreased video quality as its just temporary.

As my monitor doesn't have any built-in speakers I was looking for something with an audio output as well. I came to the following adapter:

http://www.amazon.de/Vergoldete-VicTsing-Adapter-Kabel-Audio-Anschluss-HDMI-Eingabeger%C3%A4te/dp/B00Y2IP3P8

Will this work with the Wii U together with the audio output for which I will use a speaker?

Last night I opened up a new disc copy of Splatoon exicted to play! I loaded the disc, it ran a software update on Splatoon then opened Splatoon. The problem is the WiiU then freezes ont he loading screen. The music keeps playing but Splatoon never loads and I cannot exit ou with the home menu.

I tried restarting then erasing the DLC from my system and starting over. Twice.

I then called Nintendo and they had me try the same thing again. Still stuck on the loading screen.

All my other games are playing fine.

Has this happenend to any one else?

Any ideas for a fix?

Splatoon "Connection is Unstable" Every Match

$

Hello!

Picked up Splatoon and I have been trying to play online matches (which seems to be the main function of the game) and I am having problems staying in matches.  Here's the play-by-play for every match I've tried: I connect to other players and matches fine, start the match and play ~15 seconds before "The connection is unstable." shows up and finally boots me out with "The connection has been lost."

Other online games work fine (Smash, Mario Kart 8) and Internet connection on my network is fine.

Is there a solution other than picking up a USB to ethernet adapter?  The location of my wii U would have me line an ethernet cable through the apartment which I won't is out of the question.

Any help is appreciated!

Can you play 4 instruments at the same time and still hear the singer?

So Rock Band 2 seems to be set up so that we can't include the keyboard in the band without giving up the singer to the music.

Is there any way around this?

No one wants to sing but then we're forced to play the music to the whisper of a singer. Could the volume be turned up?

New Super Mario Bros. U 3 System-Wide Save Slots Only!? Really!?

Why is this game set up to have 3 system-wide saves? There are 2 adults and 4 kids in my house that all play our Wii U, and 3 system-wide save slots is ridiculous.

Nintendo please patch this so saves work like most games, PER USER.

Can a Wii U Fit Meter with data be synced to a different account?

Hi,

I accidentally removed the battery from my wife's Wii U Fit meter after 2 weeks of a walking holiday. Clearly, all the data has been lost, which is very upsetting. I still have my meter, but my question is: is it possible to sync my meter to her account, so all my steps and altitude data goes to her Mii instead of mine?

It's a long shot, but seriously, I am in lots of trouble, and we have another week of holiday before we get back to our Wii U.

Thanks!

Getting replacement GamePad sticks.

The sticks in my GamePad are starting to get wear & tear. I'd like to replace them, but I'm wary of buying replacements from eBay as none of the listings use the word "official". Is there any way to order them from Nintendo, or get a discount on the standard repair price?

Charger Problem

Yesterday when I unplugged my GamePad AC adapter from the wall socket, the socket sparked and caused a short circuit. This is the first time any charger for any product of mine has ever done this. While the socket is pretty old, it is normally in fine condition, and like I said, this has never happened to me before. After reading up on short circuits, I discovered that one of the big causes is the plug getting too hot and melting away the insulation. Before, I've noticed that after a few hours, the AC adapter plug gets too hot to touch- I could only touch the outside for a few seconds before I got burned. All my other chargers (including the DS and 3DS chargers) just get a bit warm, but never too hot to touch. Basically, I think the adapter getting too hot melted away the insulation in the socket and caused a short circuit.

If this is the case, is it a defect in my particular AC adapter, or a problem in all GamePad AC adapters? Are there any steps that I can take to prevent the plug from overheating and causing more short circuits? If it's relevent at all, the AC adapter is the one that came with the Deluxe set, which I got in 2012. It was plugged into the charging cradle with the GamePad on the cradle at the time when I unplugged the adapter and caused the short circuit, but I've done the exact same thing with the GamePad and the 3DS multiple times and nothing happended until today.

[Virtual Console] Using a Wii Remote for TLoZ: Ocarina of Time.

According to the eShop, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time supports the Wii Remote and the Wii Remote Plus in addition to the standard GamePad, Pro Controller, and Wii Remote paried with a Classic Controller.

My question is how does one go about using a Wii Remote or WR Plus for Ocarina of Time and other supported games on the Virtual Console?

Problems After Netflix Update

$

So, I've been trying to fix this problem for a couple of days now, and I've run out of things to try.

After the recent Wii U Netflix update, whenever I try to play a show, the same thing happens.  After the initial buffering, the show will play for exactly two minutes.  At that point, it stops to buffer, and stalls at 25%.  Eventually, it displays the "We're having trouble playing this title right now.  Please try again later or select a different title" screen with no error code.  This happens every single time.  I've tried playing different episodes, different shows, and I've tried it several times over the past few days, all with the same result.

So far, my attempts to fix the problem have included the following:

- Changing profiles.

- Reloading Netflix, both with the "Reload Netflix" button and by closing the software from the home menu and relaunching it.

- Signing out of Netflix and back in again.

- Turning off and unplugging my Wii U, waiting for several minutes, and plugging it back in.

- Turning off and unplugging my router, waiting for several minutes, and plugging it back in.

- Manually inputting DNS settings.

- Changing my Netflix settings to a lower quality.

- Using the Data Management tool in System Settings to delete Netflix's Shared Save Data, then signing back into Netflix.

- Using the Data Management tool in System Settings to delete the Netflix app and reinstalling it from the Nintendo eShop.

The connection test is always successful, and the Internet Browser works just fine, including streaming video, so the Wii U is accessing the internet just fine.  The Netflix connection test is also always successful, and I can still search for titles and load the first two minutes of any show, so clearly it is also communicating in some fashion with Netflix.

Netflix tech support seems stumped, and I have yet to even find anyone else who's having the same problem.  It worked perfectly up until the most recent update, and hasn't worked at all since.  Any ideas?

Problems After Netflix Update

So, I've been trying to fix this for several days, with no luck, and I'm out of ideas.

After the recent Netflix update, I've been having a problem where, when I play any show, it plays the first two minutes, pauses to buffer, then stalls out at 25%.  I've tried playing various different shows, including some that I've never loaded before, and I've tried several times over the past few days.  Each time, it stalls at 25%, then displays the "We're having trouble playing this title right now.  Please try again later or select a different title" screen, with no error code visible.  This happens every single time I attempt to play something, and only started after the update.  So far, the things I've tried to fix it include:

1. Make sure Netflix and the Wii U system software are updated.

2. Make sure date and time are correct.

3. Reload Netflix (I've tried this both with the button in Netflix, and by exiting using the home menu and reloading the application).

4. Change profiles.

5. Sign out of Netflix and back in again.

6. Delete Netflix's shared save data, then sign in again.

7. Power cycle the Wii U.

8. Power cycle my router.

9. Set Netflix to a lower quality of video in my account settings.

10. Manually set DNS.

11. Delete Netflix and reinstall it from the eShop.

The only thing I've had recommended to me that I haven't tried yet is hooking the Wii U directly up to my router using an ethernet cable, because I don't have one that's long enough.  I know that the Wii U is connecting to the internet, because the connection test is alway successful and I can use the Internet Browser just fine, even for streaming video.  Even Netflix, when I do a connection test, says that everything is normal.

I've pretty much exhausted the advice that Netflix's troubleshooting guide has to offer, and their tech suppost people also seem stumped by this.  For that matter, I've not been able to find anyone else who claims to have the same problem.  Any help or advice that anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Wii U load times absurdly slow

$

Hi, first time posting, so let me know if there are any formatting rules that I'm not adhering to.

I'm having major troubles with my Wii U and its load times recently. I returned to college last week and my suite mates and I wanted to play Smash 4 on my Wii U, and I set it up in one of their rooms on their personal TV. I left in there for about four days without using it. I left my copy of Smash 4 inside of the console like I always do with any game. I ordered an HD monitor for my own personal use for my room and it came this past Wednesday, so I took my Wii U and set everything up just fine.

Now this is what I suspect that may have screwed everything up. My monitor didn't have any sound output, but I did have a small speaker that would work perfectly for my room. It has a USB wire that it can use to charge and recieve sound input from, and my monitor didn't have any USB ports. I plugged the speaker into the top USB port in the back of my Wii U somehow thinking that sound would output from there and not through the HDMI.

I unplugged the speaker because it wasn't doing anything, and the following have experienced much longer than normal load times since:

  • Booting up the console takes nearly a minute at times, sometimes it just stays on a black screen and never loads
  • Registering that there is a disk inside of the console, the disk drive often takes a bit of time to start revving up
  • Going to the settings menu takes around half a minute, attempting to load hard drive data takes about a minute
  • E-Shop takes forever to load(Internet was working smoothly in my dorm beforehand)
  • Loading Smash 4 can take several minutes, or sometimes it never loads at all, being stuck on a black screen
  • Going online in Smash 4 can be nearly impossible sometimes
  • Loading up the Stage menu, entering a battle, and going back to the character select after a battle
  • Entering a battle in classic mode, going to the results screen, reloading after a failure
  • Entering and exiting the Trophy Shop
  • Loading up Super Mario 3D World takes half a minute
  • Auto-saving after a stage in 3D World can take up to a minute
  • Loading Hyrule Warriors was extremely quick as usual, but saving progress and reloading menus after playing through a stage once never ended, I had to manually shut down the console.

I experienced a few hours of non-interrupted good load times on Wednesday night, but afterwards its returned to the problems I have had before. I have never experienced these kind of problems with my Wii U since I got it last December, its always worked well up to this point. I am thinking that plugging in that third party USB drive could have messed with the Wii U's internals, as it seems that retrieving and handling data are ints biggest problems now.

Additional details that may or may not be important:

  • My Wii U has very minimal physical wear and tear on it, maybe a few stratches on the paint but otherwise nothing.
  • The Wii U's fan appears to be a bit dusty but otherwise fine
  • The power cord for the console is slightly damaged, it was pressed with a hot iron thanks to my drunken suite mates last semester, but the internal wiring is fine and not exposed, I didn't have a problem with it all summer
  • I have a 2GB Toshiba SD card for storing photos and replays and my old Wii downloads
  • I have a 3rd party Gamecube controller adapter(by Mayflash) that has worked fine for me since February when I got it, however the white USB plug for the rumble feature has the metal casing slightly bent from being at an akward angle plugged in in the past, but that hasn't caused any problems. However, since Wednesday, after finising a Smash battle sometimes, my Gamecube controller's analog stick input has been screwed up and moving randomly, although this is solved by unplugging the contorller out and in again.
  • My Wii U's hard drive has 13GB left out of 32GB of storage.

Any help anybody could provide would be very much appreciated, this is one frustration that I really don't want to have to put up with.

If anybody has any further questions, please ask.

WiiU Reset Issue!

I reset my WiiU and now it says my Nintendo Network ID is tied to another WiiU I created a new Nintendo ID and the games that I had from the e-Shop Zelda WindWaker HD and Mario Kart 8 +DLC no longer shows as paid for. I thought games were tied to the console not a gamer ID. Nontendo you owe me a Zelda WIndwaker HD and Mario Kart 8 +DLC code. I was set to gift this system to a family member tomorrow that is why I wanted to clean the system before giving it to them. I even backed the games up to a flash drive but after the reset it won't read the flash drive wither.
