Problems After Netflix Update

$

So, I've been trying to fix this problem for a couple of days now, and I've run out of things to try.

After the recent Wii U Netflix update, whenever I try to play a show, the same thing happens.  After the initial buffering, the show will play for exactly two minutes.  At that point, it stops to buffer, and stalls at 25%.  Eventually, it displays the "We're having trouble playing this title right now.  Please try again later or select a different title" screen with no error code.  This happens every single time.  I've tried playing different episodes, different shows, and I've tried it several times over the past few days, all with the same result.

So far, my attempts to fix the problem have included the following:

- Changing profiles.

- Reloading Netflix, both with the "Reload Netflix" button and by closing the software from the home menu and relaunching it.

- Signing out of Netflix and back in again.

- Turning off and unplugging my Wii U, waiting for several minutes, and plugging it back in.

- Turning off and unplugging my router, waiting for several minutes, and plugging it back in.

- Manually inputting DNS settings.

- Changing my Netflix settings to a lower quality.

- Using the Data Management tool in System Settings to delete Netflix's Shared Save Data, then signing back into Netflix.

- Using the Data Management tool in System Settings to delete the Netflix app and reinstalling it from the Nintendo eShop.

The connection test is always successful, and the Internet Browser works just fine, including streaming video, so the Wii U is accessing the internet just fine.  The Netflix connection test is also always successful, and I can still search for titles and load the first two minutes of any show, so clearly it is also communicating in some fashion with Netflix.

Netflix tech support seems stumped, and I have yet to even find anyone else who's having the same problem.  It worked perfectly up until the most recent update, and hasn't worked at all since.  Any ideas?

When touching my Gamepad's touchscreen, it makes a cracking or clicking noise.

To be more specific, when I press down on the top left corner of my gamepad's screen it will makes these noises. When first pressing down on it, it will make the cracking noises, afterwards it will make clicking noises. The touchscreen does work fine but this does worry me a bit. The only issue I can see possibly relating to it is when I turn of the console, a few red and blue pixels appear at the top left corner of the screen. They disappear after it fully powers off and they don't appear when it is on at all. These noises don't occur when I touch it softly, but should I avoid touching it with the force neccesary to have these sounds occur?

Wii U cannot read disc

Hi, I'm having a problem at the moment. I have a new disc of Mario kart 8 that I recently gotten like a few weeks ago and tonight while I put it in my Wii U, it gave the usual message that it might be dirty so I cleaned it several times but it didn't work as now it's saying that It can't read the disc that it must show the Wii U logo but I'm using the side that has the Wii U logo! The Mk8 disc is still new with no scratches on it yet. I put in my scratched up Dkc Tropical Freeze disc and that still works so why can't my Mario kart disc work? It worked last night and the last several days even but not now. I usually had this problem when my Wii U tries to read scratched discs not much when I have a new disc. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

Wii U on PC monitor

Lately, I started to use my PC monitor to play Wii U games because of responsiveness. My TV isn't as good as my monitor, even in game mode. There is one problem, however. When accessing to anything Wii related, the display may be okay, but after returning to the Wii U menu, the colors would be pink/greenish. This isn't a big problem, as the colors are fixed by restarting the monitor (turn it off, then on). However, there is this problem where the screen would just be black and then come back normally during Wii gameplay. I've noticed it the most when playing Prime Trilogy. I have a Dell ST2420L. I actually posted this problem in the forums. Anyway, what I want to know is if this problem will be present in all monitors or if it's just mine. If it is just mine, what gaming monitors do you recommend that won't have the Wii issue?

My child is an avid user of  YouTube.  I know that it is intended for 13+, but I am perfectly ok with it.  How can I allow her to access Youtube APP on the Wii U?  She can watch on her 3DS fine, but Wii U, forget it.  I read somewhere that there is a place to do this, but I can't seem to find it.

Seriously, this should just be a standard parental control, not something you have to search for.

How do I back-up Save Data on the Wii U?

I've had hardware failures in the past with other game consoles, resulting in a complete lost of all the game save data I hadn't backed up on external storage.

Since then I've taken the habit of backing up all my games' save data regularly but with the Wii U this appears to be impossible to accomplish in a practical manner. I have no interest in purchasing an external USB Harddrive, format it for my Wii U exclusively then use it strictly for a few MB of save data which does not guarantee my data will be recoverable should my Wii U suffers a hardware failure since the Drive is formatted only for that specific Wii U.

Can't we simply use an SD card or USB thumbdrive to back up save data?

When you move Wii U game data to the hard drive, does it move the save data along with it? If so, can it be used on the same Wii U after a system format?

EarthBound Beginnings keeps freezing up on me.

So I just bought and downloaded EarthBound Beginnings from the eShop today. The game was going fairly well until

(SPOILER)

I fought the boss Starman Jr. in the zoo area. After I defeated this boss, the game froze on me almost immediately. A buzzing noise replaced the music, and I couldn't move Ninten nor access any menus. All I could was reload the restore point.

It froze on me just like that again a second and third time, both of those shortly after I defeated Starman Jr. and exited the zoo.

What do I do to prevent this game from glitching on me like this anymore? Why is it happening at all? I didn't pay $7 for a game that won't even let me play it.

VGA Monitor

I am planning on buying a Wii U. Currently I only have a VGA / Dvi-d monitor (dell p2414h). This is only going to be a temporary thing as I am currently abroad and from January onwards I will have access to my TV again with HDMI.

I've been reading many things on adapters / converters etc. I think the easiest solution for me would be to go with a HDMI to VGA converter. Again, I wouldn't mind any decreased video quality as its just temporary.

As my monitor doesn't have any built-in speakers I was looking for something with an audio output as well. I came to the following adapter:

http://www.amazon.de/Vergoldete-VicTsing-Adapter-Kabel-Audio-Anschluss-HDMI-Eingabeger%C3%A4te/dp/B00Y2IP3P8

Will this work with the Wii U together with the audio output for which I will use a speaker?

Gamepad extremely short range

Hello,

Recently (within the last 2 weeks) I've noticed that my Gamepad has been having trouble staying connected to the console.  Previously, I've been able to keep the two connected as far as about 30 feet away (even through walls).  However, the connection has grown progressively worse, until as this morning my 3-year-old was not able to play without issues despite sitting directly next to the console (about 1-2 feet away).

Is anyone else experiencing this issue (or have experienced it in the past, with resolution)?  I do not suspect damage to the pad as it's only lightly to moderately used.  The only change within the last couple of weeks is that I've bought Super Mario 3D World and a 3rd-party dock for charging the gamepad and other controllers (I worry about the kids damaging the gamepad's power jack).

Any pointers or advice would be helpful.  I'm a Software Engineer so I've already gone through a lot of troubleshooting (short of surveying the wireless signal strength and re-syncing the gamepad to the console).

Thanks in advance!

Orange/Yellow LED blinking for +4hrs, WiiU Won't Turn ON

So, the title pretty much describes my problem...

My guess is that the console had an error while updating to 5.1u in stand-by mode... Problem is: WiiU doesn't respond to any controller, I can't even turn it on or eject the disc by pressing the buttons on the console itself...

Should I unplug it? Will it brick the console?

Purple and green in Wii mode?

What it says above. Until a few hours ago there was no issue, but now when I try to load Wii mode the tv turns purple with a green border. Tv is a LG 42LH40-UA. Unlike other posted queries I don't seem to have a way to upgrade firmware. Is there a way to fix this or am I at Nintendo's updating mercy?

In Europe and Japan, the price for Super Mario Maker is around $45, but in North America, it says $60? Is this an error? If so, when will it be resolved?

Does your wii u pro controller has a misspelling?

I purchased this wii u pro controller directly from amazon.com. When I received the controller and checked the back of it, I noticed that it had a misspelling. Did Nintendo spell "received" as "recieved" on the Wii U pro Controller? Check out your controllers and let me know.

Wii U and Netflix updated yesterday..... it's not right, I need help

LOL... ok.. so I really liked the feature of the netflix app where it would play the show on the TV and show the shows information on the game pad.

After yesterday it went all weird and now that doesn't happen at all and pressing x doesn't do anything during the playing of a show..

How can I get it to go back to that? Or at least turn the game pad off so I don't freak out that somethings beside me when a show is playing.

FIX THIS PLEASE!!!!!!! Do we have to complain to Netflix as well??

Please help thanks!!

I've been using my Wii u to play music from youtube, but since a little while the volume has dropped a lot and I have no clue how to get it up to normal again? When a commercial pops up a volume bar appears at the top of the screen saying it's at the lowest volume. I've tried pretty much anything but I can't get this volume bar to pop up when i want it to nor can i change it when it does randomly pop up. I tried googling the problem but I couldnt find any answers either. Anyone know what I'm supposed to do? Thanks
