So, I've been trying to fix this problem for a couple of days now, and I've run out of things to try.
After the recent Wii U Netflix update, whenever I try to play a show, the same thing happens. After the initial buffering, the show will play for exactly two minutes. At that point, it stops to buffer, and stalls at 25%. Eventually, it displays the "We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again later or select a different title" screen with no error code. This happens every single time. I've tried playing different episodes, different shows, and I've tried it several times over the past few days, all with the same result.
So far, my attempts to fix the problem have included the following:
- Changing profiles.
- Reloading Netflix, both with the "Reload Netflix" button and by closing the software from the home menu and relaunching it.
- Signing out of Netflix and back in again.
- Turning off and unplugging my Wii U, waiting for several minutes, and plugging it back in.
- Turning off and unplugging my router, waiting for several minutes, and plugging it back in.
- Manually inputting DNS settings.
- Changing my Netflix settings to a lower quality.
- Using the Data Management tool in System Settings to delete Netflix's Shared Save Data, then signing back into Netflix.
- Using the Data Management tool in System Settings to delete the Netflix app and reinstalling it from the Nintendo eShop.
The connection test is always successful, and the Internet Browser works just fine, including streaming video, so the Wii U is accessing the internet just fine. The Netflix connection test is also always successful, and I can still search for titles and load the first two minutes of any show, so clearly it is also communicating in some fashion with Netflix.
Netflix tech support seems stumped, and I have yet to even find anyone else who's having the same problem. It worked perfectly up until the most recent update, and hasn't worked at all since. Any ideas?
