Error 111-9000: eShop refuses to load

$

I've received several error messages over the course of the day, and was finally able to get my Wii U consistently connected to the internet, but I'm still coming across several errors. Miiverse showing a simplified text-formatted forum; pages not loading correctly in the browser; but the most infuriatingly annoying is the eShop not loading up. It either gives me error 111-9000, saying "An unexpected error has ocurred. The software will now close." or sometimes another error that says something along the lines of "Unable to load page." I'm just wondering how widespread this issue is, and if it is something that is fixable either through a system patch or something else before I either return it to the store or Nintendo.

Why does eShop not have DLC as preorder bonuses, and will it ever?

So here's a story for you guys. There's probably going to be a TL;DR at the end. Maybe. Although no promises, feel free to check anyway.

So I was at Gamestop today and saw the poster for Injustice: Gods Among Us. I'm a pretty big DC fan so I was interested, especially when I saw it was for WiiU as well. They're offering bonuses for preordering, as well as a Season Pass for future DLC so I was really interested. I asked if this was also for WiiU, not really expecting a yes since Nintendo has never offered downloadable bonuses for preordering. But there's DLC in the eShop now, right? So there could be bonuses now, right? Well, lo and behold, I was told that there's no bonuses for the WiiU version, at all. He also couldn't tell me if the bonuses would be offered as separate DLC. It just comes with the game and that's it. I'm not happy about this.

I am a Nintendo fan. I look for a Nintendo version of a game first if it's available. I like my WiiU, but it's been sitting collecting dust for a couple reasons.

1. A lack of used games. I'm not made of money, and the system is still new. I have one game besides Nintendo Land, which is Transformers Prime. I enjoyed it, but it was kinda short and has no online multiplayer.

2. A lack of games in general. The system is still new, but we really need more games for it.

3. Prices for games. This kinda goes along with the no used games thing. A lack of used games means I have to buy them at full price, and I'm not made of money, so I right now only buy a game if I really want it. I really wanted Injustice for WiiU.

I was looking at Batman, but I still have yet to play the first one on my PS3 so there's still time to get the second one and let the price go down.

So anyway I wanted a game that I could play longer than 2 days before I "beat it" and finished the story for all the characters. An online multiplayer was a plus. And I was even told by the CS Rep that all they could do is submit it as feedback that even with a DLC system on the eShop, Nintendo still doesn't have preorder bonuses. The lady also couldn't confirm or deny that the Red Son pack being offered as a free preorder bonus or Season Passes on other consoles would ever be available for WiiU, paid or otherwise.

Nintendo, I'm not happy about this. Will there be some kind of way to get the preorder bonus for Injustice, even if it's a paid DLC off the eShop? Will there ever be preorder bonuses or Season Passes for future DLC so those of us like me who prefer the Nintendo version of games stop feeling like second-class citizens? Please tell me this is being planned. Please Nintendo, may I have some good news?

TL;DR: Redeemable preorder bonus DLC for WiiU. When?

Can't update my WiiU Deluxe

Hello,

I can not update my Wii U Deluxe to the latest update.

It keeps reaching around 35-40% while downloading, then gives me Error Code 108-0068

According to the guide on support.nintendo.com it might work if I tried resuming, but it would not move it keeps giving the same error.

Another solution was to delete the uncomplete update files and update again, but there was no option to delete it like other downloads.

So in the end I erased everything, wiped, and started again hoping that a clean installation will take place, but ended up with the same result. ;/

Any ideas?

Wii U please wait...stuck at menu after 3.0.0 update

WiiUScreenPleaseWaitFreeze.JPG
I am having a problem with my Wii U after the 3.0.0 update.  When I close out a program and go back to the menu I get a "please wait..." notice, from there it stays.  I waited about 30 minutes and it just stays stuck.  It's not a total freeze, I can switch screens but otherwise nothing happens, none of my apps load either, no miiverse upper screen either, just my mii shows up.  It just stays on "Please wait..."  I have to hold the power button to get the system to shut down and start again.  I did not have this problem before the 3.0.0 system update.  I decided to test some things before coming on here.  What I found was that it only occured when a disc was in the drive.  If I took the disc out, I never had a problem and in fact, I never even got the "Please wait..." message.  I also tried various discs, I have five.  I tried various programs to close out of.  Same story.  Disc in.  "Please Wait..." stuck.  Needed to power off,  Disc out...no problems at all.

I owned this system on launch day.  Since then I've only had one other real problem with it.  Occasionally discs give me Invalid Disc ? errors.  Sometimes those discs would load fine in the Wii U menu.  Other times, invalid disc message.  But the games themselves always loaded properly and played properly.  The discs are not the problem.  Something is wrong with either the disc drive or the wii u OS.  I have no idea.  I checked online and many people said pull the power cord for about 20-30 seconds.  Indeed, that did seem to fix it.  But then again, standard powering off and powering on sometimes fixed it too.  A wonky problem that some others have had although not many.  Now after the last update previous to 3.0.0.  I never had an invalid disc error again.  Not once.  After installing 3.0.0 I got one invalid disc error.  I pulled the plug did the usually 20-30 seconds thing.  Now the system is no longer giving me the invalid disc error.  While I get the please wait... message, It only stays on for about 2-3 seconds rather then being stuck.  I never got a please wait... message before the 3.0.0 system update when I shut down a program with a disc in the drive.

Normally I would think my disc drive might have a problem, but I sort of don't think so in this case, because after the last update, the one previous update prior to 3.0.0 I had no disc drive problems.  No invalid disc errors, no please wait... messages stuck or not stuck.  So if I had it before the previous update and after the 3.0.0 update and the update affects the system.  That tells me, something software wise is causing this, perhaps the OS is having a problem.  But that is just a guess.  I really don't know.

So I am curious is this problem normal, is there any suggestions what I could do to avoid/fix/remove this problem, has anyone else had it.  It's more then just annoying, I'm shutting down a system when it is saying please wait... which can be dangerous and damaging I would assume.

I included a photo of the please wait... problem during an actual freeze, sadly I didn't take one of the invalid disc error and those are hard to replicate, I wish I did.  Let me know any info.  Thanks.

EDIT:  Just to add my Wii U is a Deluxe Black Edition.  I don't have a USB hard drive connected.  I do have an SD card in but while testing my problem.  I took that card out and it didn't seem to have any effect on the problem good or bad.  If there is any other info you need let me know.

Wii U Error Code: 160-0101

I was just wondering about the following error code I have suddenly received on my Wii U Gamepad & TV display:

Wii U Error.jpg

The exact steps of what was going on with the system prior to the error was as follows:

  1. I was playing through a lengthy session of Zen Pinball 2 on my Gamepad (my main TV screen was off at the time).
  2. I was done playing for the night, so I quit my current table & returned to the main table selection screen of the game.
  3. I then pressed the Home Button on the Gamepad in order to close the game & return to the Wii U main menu
  4. The Wii U Home Menu appeared on screen & I then pressed the Close Software icon.
  5. The screen above appeared on the Gamepad screen. Upon turning on my TV to the proper input, I noticed this Error message was also being displayed there as well.

I then attempted to look up the error code on the Nintendo Support page for the Wii U in an attempt to figure out what was the issue, but upon entering the code I received the following message:

Error Code: 160-0101

Situation:

Unable to find your specific error code. Please search your Wii U error code again, making sure to enter it exactly as it appears.

If you are still unable to locate troubleshooting for your specific error code, below is a list of troubleshooting steps that resolve most home network connection issues

After that, the only thing I could do was to attempt to turn off the console as instructed by the error code. I first attempting to do so the standard way by holding the power button on the Gamepad until it powered off... unfortunately, this did not power down the main console as well. I pressed the power button on the Gamepad once again, and it powered up to the same error message being displayed. I then attempted a shut down by holding the actual console's power button for 3 seconds. This time the console itself powered off & the Gamepad displayed an error that it had lost communication with the main system. Upon powering down the Gamepad, I was able to boot the console back on via the Gamepad & was taking to the main prompt screen to choose a profile.

I don't know how common this error is, but couldn't find anything useful on the internet & felt that at least documenting it could at least be a start for someone else who might come across this same Error Code.

Wii U eShop Funds Across Different Users

Hey guys. I was bored a few days ago, so I made a sock account on my Wii U for no real reason at all. Don't judge me. When I was in that account, I noticed that the 1 cent I had left over from getting Trine 2 a few months ago wasn't there. In my real account, it was still there. Does this mean that funds are linked to the NNID, not the account? Because that would be pretty silly, locking digital games to a console, but tying the funds to a user to me.

Wii U Wifi Issues - Cannot acces online services

My Wii U is able to connect to my router perfectly fine. Even though the signal is rather weak, I always get a successful connection test and can use the internetn browser. However, the big problem is that I cannot access any of the online services, such as the Miiverse, eShop, etc, and I cannot do system updates. Usually I get an error code in the 102 or 105 series. The only way I can update is if I put the console in my room (where it's much closer to the router) and use my gamepad as a screen.

The check for online services on startup usually says they're unavailable, and it shows the orange background behinf my mii's head. However, it'll sometimes show the blue background, indicating the online services are available. However, no matter when I try to connect to them, the connection fails. My Wii never had a problem using online services with this signal strength. Do the Wii U online services require a very strong connection?

This is very strange, as the internet connection tests still succeed.

Turn off virtual console antialiasing?

Hello,

I purchased Kirby's Adventure as a virtual console game for my Wii U.  I'm pleased with it overall but I'm confused about the graphics.  The whole screen seems to be heavily antialiased, making everything blurry and indistinct.  Is there any way to turn this off?  I just want the raw, crisp pixels on my screen --- no post-processing.

Kirby's Adventure has really charming pixel art but you'd barely know it with all the blurring going on...  I'd get a cleaner picture plugging my NES into an ancient CRT television.  I really hope there is a way to turn antialiasing off, or will be in the future, since I'd eagerly buy lots of virtual console games in the future if I knew I could enjoy their graphics to the fullest on my HDTV!

Thanks!

Virtual Console & Wii Shop question

If I buy a game in Wii Mode, can I later transfer it to Wii U?

Let's say I had 800 points left when I did the Wii>Wii U transfer. Can I:

1) Go into Wii mode

2) Open up Wii Shop Channel

3) Download Super Mario World with my 800 points

4) Exit Wii mode

5) Go to eShop

6) Download Super Mario World for $1.50?

Or will Super Mario World be $8?

Can't access the eShop on WiiU

All right.  I've been trying to get on the eShop for 3 days now and I am getting fed up.  I bought a $20 eShop card that I can't even use.  I keep getting the error code 111-9000 And before you refer me to the same webpage that everyone gets referred to, I'll tell you it didn't work.  I am quite capable of typing my wifi password in correctly.  When I do a connection test it comes up totally positive with no problems, but whenever I try to use ANY internet related software on the WiiU I get shut down, I did update to the latest version of the system somehow, but even that was a chore on its own.

I tried looking around but most people managed to fix the issue by resetting they're router which I tried and came up with negative results.  I believe my network is WPA2 secured, and it connects my 3DS and original Wii just fine to the internet, but for some reason my Wii U thinks it's too cool for my Wifi.  It really frustrates me that I Can't even use Nintendo's new "And improved" console because I can't get online at all.  When the system first came out (I got it at launch) I had issues connecting to the internet, but I fixed those by manually imputting the ip address and waht not.

I gave up on trying to sort the issue myself so I'm just going to shoot blind here and hope I hit someone who knows how to fix this issue.

All help is appreciated.

My console can't connect to any services after new update 4/26/13

Before the update my console had some issues connecting to Hulu Plus, YouTube, and Amazon Instant Video, Hulu and YouTube would bring up an error code 102-2107 on startup and Amazon would forever remain on the orange circle loading screen. I had called customer support about it and went through everything in the book: changing security settings, the router's broadcast channel, setting up the console with a static IP and a DMZ on the network, moving the router closer (they're literally right next to each other), power cycling and all. After a few hours he said he couldn't help me, and suggested buying a new router. I decided to live with it: Netflix worked and that was fine.

After downloading the update last night, I tried to check out the eshop to see if the VC was up yet, and I got this error code: 111-1007 Could not display page.

I figured it was being updated because of the VC, so I let it go for the night. But today I'm still getting the error and I really want to check out the VC that everyone's talking about. I was going to use the Internet browser to check my connection speed, and no matter what page I try it just shows the error code 112-1007 Could not display page. I had never gotten the these or any error messages in the eshop and Internet browser before yesterday's update. Is this happening to anyone else?

Gamepad charing issue with extension cord

I charge the Gamepad using the packaged AC adapter through the charging cradle/stand. It charges fine when the AC adapter is plugged directly into the wall, but currently, I have it set up with an extension cord plugged into the wall socket. It charges sometimes, but often, when I put the Gamepad back on the stand, it will not charge at all. Then I have to unplug the AC adapter from the extension cord and fiddle around with the connection in order to get it to start charging again.

I have tried 3 different extension cords, of varying lengths (between 6 and 15 feet), but the problem seems to be recurring. I know one solution is to plug the AC adapter directly into the wall socket, but I'm looking for some more help with the extension cord issue. Thanks.

My Wii U Can't Seem to Stay Connected to the Internet

$

0

So yea let me get into this right away. So basically I have a Wii U (the deluxe bundle) and have had it since a couple days after it was released back in November. I love my new system, but there is one thing that always seems to frustrate me. What frusturates me is that my Wii U can't seem to stay connected to the internet on my home's Wi-Fi connection (wireless connection). It's not that I can't get connected to the internet, it's that my Wii U will constantly connect and disconnect randomly at times. Sometimes it's every few seconds or mins, and sometimes the disconnection does not happen at all - it just seems random. For example sometimes when I open Miiverse, if I try to tap on the sidebar or go to a community I'll get a error code saying my Wii U cannot connect to the internet. Then if I click again (although sometimes it takes 3 or more tries) it will work. Another example is when I use different apps such as Nintendo TVii or the Eshop. Just like Miiverse, sometimes it works flawlessly, but sometimes I'll have to try opening them a few times before I can successfully continue without getting an error code message. Another thing to note is the blue box that surrounds your Mii on the home menu which signifies that you are connected will randomly turn orange and then back blue - showing that my Wii U trully cannot stay connected to the internet at all times. Sometimes downloading things take forever because of the constant disconnecting and reconnecting -- it literally took me almost 2 hours to download the Rayman Legends demo a few months back.

For refrence I managed to write down some of the few error codes I have gotten over time. I realize not all of them may pertain to my problem, but I'll list they ones I have written down just in case:

121-9999

121-9998     -- The first two happen to be the ones I've seen a lot

101-0704

102-2106

111-9000

102-2211

The modem that I use is a Bell 2Wire 2701 modem. Now before I go on I should also note that the Wi-Fi connection I have set up at home is reliable. Not only do my Wii, DS, DSLite, DSi, and 3DS consoles all work flawlessly on my wi-fi connection, but I also use my wi-fi connection for my house computer, my laptop, my iPhone, and as well as various other electronics that other members of my family happen to own. Of course only a few are ever connected all at once, but I have never had a single problem with my connection for anything else except my Wii U.

I also should add that I changed my connection on my Wii U to manually enter DNS settings. I did this when I first got frusturated with this problem as it what Nintendo seems to recommend for people having problems with their internet connection. I can say it seemed to work, as the disconnections happened less frequently afterwards, but they still happen nonetheless.

Just remember that this doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I can use my Wii U flawlessly without any internet disconnections, but often times I will experience a disconnection at least one or two times when I play on my system. Anyways, any help or recommendations would gladly be appreciated.

Has Nintendo fixed the freezing problems with the Wii U on the latest system update?

$
0
0

The new system update for Wii U has just released, but I'd like to know one thing. Has the common freezing error been fixed yet? I haven't downloaded the system update itself yet, so that's why I'm asking. I've heard that Nintendo added the force shutdown option ( hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off in case of a crash), which probably means Nintendo is aware of the freezing. But if they haven't, why is Nintendo taking so long to create a fix for a common ( and annoying) problem? Not to mention that they have never mentioned it, which doesn't make me hopeful that they see it as a problem.

Wii U logo shows up on screen, menu won't load

$

I bought my Wii U back in February, and I was pretty excited.  I patiently waited for the system update and everything seemed pretty good, for the most part.  A few slow menu loads, but I was playing games and experiencing all the cool things it can do.

Then trouble started...

First it was Netflix.  While we were watching it, it froze and made a really loud beeping sound.  I'm sure you've heard of it before.  This happened two times in a row, and the only way to stop it was to unplug the system.  I always figured that if this is like any other computer, that's probably not the best choice, but this hasn't been like the Wii in terms of being able to just turn it off.

I was enjoying a bit of Punch-Out!!!, a couple of weeks ago, and that was the last time I remember it working.

One day I turned it on, and the Wii U logo was on the screen.  And on the screen.  And on the screen.  The Wii U menu never loaded up, even when I left it on all night long.  The only response I ever got otherwise was pressing the TV button, and a little message would appear on the remote, but otherwise, nothing.  Unplugged it, tried again, same deal, several times.

I love what the system can do, and the possibilities of Miiverse and all that.  I've been a Nintendo man for since long before I was a man...and this is really heartbreaking.  I did call Nintendo to set up a repair, of course, but I'm nervous about sending it because I went against my better judgment and transferred all my save data over to the Wii U and I just don't think it's going to return.  As much as the Wii has been a staple of my life for years now, I feel sad to have to go back to it this way, feeling betrayed for trusting the Wii U.  But hey, I'll live, it's just a video game system, right?

I'm actually hoping for more positive stories about Nintendo's repair work.  Just to restore my shaken faith in Nintendo.  But to sum all this up, since I know this was too long a post, has anyone else had this problem?  With just the Wii U logo on the screen when you turn it on, and it won't load up at all?
