Nintendo ID Created But Never "Linked"

I created a Nintendo ID with my preferred screen name on a Wii U (we'll call this NNID #1). When I got to the dialog that talks about "linking" the Ninendo ID to the console and how "this can not be changed once linked" I backed out. Instead, I created a throwaway account (NNID #2) and linked that one instead so that I could start exploring the online content on the Wii U.

 

I now own another Wii U. This is the unit I want to use the Nintendo ID I originally created (NNID #1) and never actually linked on my first Wii U. But when I go through the dialog to "link an exsiting Nintendo ID" and put in the info for NNID #1, I am presented with an error message saying that NNID #1 is linked to another console.

 

I'm confused. I specifically avoided linking NNID #1 to the first Wii U I had because I was afraid of something like this happening. Because I never linked NNID #1 I should be able to use it on a different console, right? Or is it the case that since I created NNID #1 on a different Wii U, that now it is locked to that console. If that's how it works, why even give the warning that "this can't be changed later" when running through the linking dialog?

 

Can I link the account created on my first Wii U (NNID #1), to my new Nintendo Wii U?

Hello!

 

I just purchased the Zelda Wii U Bundle, and am having a little trouble with the Out Of Box setup.  It's prompting me to sign into my Nintendo Network ID, but when I do it states the system needs to be updated prior to signing in, and loops me back to the sign-in screen.  I am unable to bypass this, or even go back.  Any help would be appreciated!

Warranty 'somewhat expired' Question?

So I called Nintendo about my sending in my Wii U gamepad on the 13th of Jan (warranty expired on the 16th). The man said that he would mail me the repair order information and I would have to follow the instructions on there. Yesterday, I got the instructions in the mail and I immediately sent it off to nintendo via purolator... The thing is that I set up my repair order when the warranty was still covered.. but I only had the chance to send it in a day after the warranty expired. Will Nintendo still fix my gamepad?

Wii U Freezing. Not Loading Game

Hi. Trying to play Wind Waker HD again after a month or so break. However when I put the game in and start it up, it freezes on the screen before the game actually starts; the blue hyroglphics. I've put another game in, 3D world, and that works just fine. The Wind Waker HD is absolutely clean, not even a smudge. The music that plays during this loops forever. Any ideas on what is wrong? Thanks.

Gamepad High Capacity Battery

Hi Does anyone know how long round about that it will take to get a Wii u Gamepad High Capacity Battery being as it is on backorder i purchased it on 1/16/2014 and like in the U.S. dont need exact date just a ballpark figure. Thanks from Die hard Nintendo fan for life.

Wii U won't Sync.

I've tried to look around for an answer, but nothing comes up.

My Wii U when I press the Sync button won't go to the sync screen. My Wii U pad goes to the sync screen, but nothing comes on my t.v. for my Wii U.

 

As I watched video and read the guides, as you press the sync button it should just go straight to the screen.


is my Wii U faulty?
I bought it from Amazon, and it said new.

Obvious Question

I kind of got a question that I may already have an answer to. But, I went to this website called wiiudaily.com (which is a Nintendo gameing news site) on my Wii U Gamepad (from which I'm typing from) and I set my User Agent to Android Tablet. I go to the site and it says your "Android Device has a Virus, get rid of it now" or at least something close to that, so I hit okay and it looks like it's checking an Android Device, then I go a screen where it tells what type of virus it is in which I close out immediately. So, obviously I know it's not an android device, but could this have an effect on my home network at all or is it just saying you have a virus for no reason to give you a virus (if that makes sense)? I don't know, but does anyone experience the issue when going to the site?

Wii U to VC issue with N64 Games

Hi, not sure if this has been answered a lot before but here goes:

 

I succesfully transferred my Wii Content over to my Wii U, everything seems to be working fine when I enter Wii Mode and play the VC titles except the N64 games, when I try to load any N64 games I get a error saying that the game will not load, the NES, SNES and other games work fine. I know N64 isn't available on the Wii U VC yet but when I"m in Wii mode I don't see why the games wouldn't work. If there is a fix or a answer to this please let me know.

Issue with Wii U's Netflix Quality

Hi everyone. Hopefully this is the right place to ask this. I know that some people have been experiencing a similar issue to mine, but I haven't yet found anything exactly like mine. So I figured I would give it a shot. You'll also have to excuse my poor choice of wording for some concepts I don't quite understand fully.

 

Very happy with my Wii U, but the Netflix quality is super subpar. I typically only get about 240/288p. I have managed to get 720p one time since getting the console in December. I have switched the DNS from the default to other options and the MTU from 1400 to 1492 to 1500. I have tried deleting and redownloading the app. I have used several different HDMI ports on my TV. I got a Wii LAN adaptor and used an ethernet cable and didn't get any results. I also turned the Firewall off on my U-verse router and that also didn't make any difference.

 

My Macbook Pro gets 14.1 Mbps in a recent speed test and the Wii U is getting 7.6 Mbps, which obviously is much slower but Netflix states that it only needs 7 Mbps for Super HD but I have never even really experienced 720p :(

 

I am very disappointed because I love the console but not being able to play Netflix in high quality reliably is upsetting to me.

 

Another thing, YouTube, Amazon, and Hulu play in very clear HD ://

Wii U gamepad buttons at the bottom not working

I just noticed that my WiiU gamepad's bottom buttons (Home, TV and Power) do nothing when i press them.

The gamepad itself works when i power the WiiU using the console itself. WHen powered i can use the touch screen , triggers, thumbsticks d-pad, X-Y-A-B buttons but the HOME, TV and POWER do not work?

 

The only thing that i did differently was that yesterday i purchased an old Wii game.

 

Please need help

 

tried to resync my WiiU gamepad but it tells me that it is already synced and then freezes before i can do anything, the only way to fix is to manually shut of the console itself.

when It ask me to take picture of myself to use as the avatar, it took the picture of it then show my face on the mii but when I go back to wiiu menu then select nintendo ID, it only shows Mii not a picture of myself.

Wii U GamePad High Capacity Battery? Cancelled?

Nintendo, where is the high capacity battery at? I ordered this on the 20th when it was in stock and first announced by major gaming news reporting sites. A few weeks later there was a stealth update on the situation on the product's page stating it would be shipping on Jan 16th, yet it's as of today Jan. 20th, 2014 without any sign of shipping. What's going on?

Wii U not reading Wii games anymore

I would like to know if there's any solution to my problem (hopefully not shipping my Wii U back to Nintendo for repairs). Around summer time, I was able to play my Skyward Sword game in my Wii U, but now it also has the problem of not reading any original Wii disc. The Wii U will atempt to read it, but stops and says there is no disc to read. I haven't done anything to the console except for playing the compatible Wii U games, making sure it is updated and play downloaded games.

Use Wii U Pro Controller on the Wii menu?

I just downloaded The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, a game I have never, but always wanted to play, on my Wii U's Wii menu. I downloaded it and expected to be able to use my Wii U Pro Controller to play but, sadly found out that I cannot. I heard that The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is coming out on the Wii U's Eshop soon and that to upgrade it will only be around $1 or $2. Is this true and if not then how can I play it on my Wii menu without an original Wii Classic Controller?

3DS to WiiU NNID shenanigans, internet trouble

        I set up my NNID on my 3DS when Miiverse was brought to that, then I got a Wii U. I'm still at the point of setting up the Wii U where I can choose between creating a new NNID for the Wii U or using an existing one. Of course I'd choose the latter, but... when I enter all the info, it says it can't connect to the internet, likely because the automatic password is incorrect (it is). It says I can go to the internet settings on the Wii U to fiddle with that, but I can't go the menu yet because I'm still setting up. It takes me to the two choices after that. Do I just choose the first option that's explicitly recommended for new users and hope it'll work out, or is there a way to remedy this?

        As for why it can't connect to the internet when that step came before NNID: our internet router is password protected, one of those complicated passwords. I tried it from memory first, thinking I'd go fetch it later if I don't remember it. My input turned out to be wrong, but I couldn't find anywhere where I could try a second time after. Pressing back actually took me to the next step; I guess it assumed I was okay with the connection. I know it's a silly reason for all this, and I'd hate to have it lead to having two seperate accounts for something so simple.

Nintendo Network error?

Well, just tried playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and the system said it can't connect to the internet. I thought this was weird, as the connection from my router to my system was never interrupted before (I had just played earlier this morning). Just to be sure, I went ahead and did a connection test, and everything checked out fine. Connection test succeeded. The system went on to "check wether online services were available", and it game me an {Error Code: 102-2107}. Hm. So just to be really sure, cycled the power on my router, re-did the connection test, and checked again. Connection test succeeded; Conection to the Internet did not. Just tried the Miiverse on my Nintendo 3DS, and got another {Error Code: 022-5515}. Is the Network down or something? I'm still trying to connect as I type this, so I know it's not a problem with my 'net. And I'd just played Monster Hunter online this morning, so it isn't some sort of lingering problem. Discuss pls.

Nintendo TVii input is different from cable input. Problems!

Ok I have a sony bravia and a Wii U running via HDMI cord into input 1 or my tv. A cable box going into the tv with hdmi cord as well. With my tv you can change channels (1-125) or hit input to go to one of the external hook ups (wii u, Cable Box or dvd). When I go to Tvii on wii u (which is in input 1) it works the volume & power fine. When I change the channel on my wii u gamepad it changes the actual channel (the 1-125) on my tv. Which is static Since my cable box is running in to the tv thru hdmi & not coaxil cables. Is there any way i can get this all to work together?!?
