Wii U Gamepad loses signal less than one foot away
I placed my gamepad in the charger and as I did, I got a atatic electricity shock. I looked on the screen and it went black, with a white line across the screen. The menu screen came back up and I can play my games, but only if I am right next to the console. I take one step backwards, and nothing, in less than ten seconds I get the screen saying that all communication is lost. I've had the system since Christmas and it has worked perfectly, even to the point where I play the gamepad in bed in the room upstairs from the console. I'd hate to think that the shock had something to do with it, but all signs point to that being what happened. I have tried all troubleshooting up to, but not including, removing the battery, Before I do that, will it help? This really stinks, but there is a serious issue here. I literally have to be standing within one foot of the console for the gamepad to work.
Gamepad extremely short range
Hello,
Recently (within the last 2 weeks) I've noticed that my Gamepad has been having trouble staying connected to the console. Previously, I've been able to keep the two connected as far as about 30 feet away (even through walls). However, the connection has grown progressively worse, until as this morning my 3-year-old was not able to play without issues despite sitting directly next to the console (about 1-2 feet away).
Is anyone else experiencing this issue (or have experienced it in the past, with resolution)? I do not suspect damage to the pad as it's only lightly to moderately used. The only change within the last couple of weeks is that I've bought Super Mario 3D World and a 3rd-party dock for charging the gamepad and other controllers (I worry about the kids damaging the gamepad's power jack).
Any pointers or advice would be helpful. I'm a Software Engineer so I've already gone through a lot of troubleshooting (short of surveying the wireless signal strength and re-syncing the gamepad to the console).
Thanks in advance!
Have had nothing but issues today(Flashing black screen error codes)
Picked up the Wii U bundle today.
So far I can't download anything from the shop after my initial Windwaker download, I can hardly get ON the shop.
More distressing is that after watching some Netflix, I went to the home menu and the screen started flashing black on the tv over and over again.
It stopped as soon as I launched a game, but it's still not a good sign, any help?
Internet in Wii mode not working
My WiiU has been working perfectly in regards to the internet except for one thing: When Im in Wii Mode, I cant seem to access the Wii Shop Channel. Whenever I try to go on, it gives me an error code 051330, and says something like "A connection could not be established" (not exact quote).
Now I know this cannot be the case, because I immediately went back to the WiiU menu, and accessed the miiverse and the web browser with no problems. So obviously I have a stable internet connection. But I went and tried again, with no luck. I want to purchase one of the MANY virtual console titles that are on the Wii Shop but not on the WiiU's eShop yet, and this is really frustrating me. Can anyone help?
Disc Drive?
Hi all,
So this is a bit embarassing, but long story short I thought a disc was stuck in the Wii U. Tried ejecting it multiple times and resetting the power and such. Turns out, there wasn't even a disc to begin with in there lol. I'm relieved because I was about to send it into Nintendo. Anyway my question is was the Wii U damaged in any way since I kept trying to eject an empty disc slot?
Wii U console won't turn on
I tried to turn on my Wii U using the game pad and it said that I needed to get closer to the console. I got next to it and the same thing ocurred. I tried using the power button on the console and nothing happened. The power supply is plugged in, I've tried using different outlets and nothing happens. Any ideas?
Nintendo Network ID Data Transfer Help
Hi, i purchased a wii u on launch date back in 2012. I created a nintendo network id and everything and i've made some friends through miiverse. I've even linked my account to my 3DS. However, recently i've been wanting to change my nintendo network id username. Since you can't change the username, i decided i might as well create a new nintendo network id and just transfer all my information over. I'm not sure how to do this, or if it is even possible to transfer data from one id to another. I could really use some help. Also will unlinking my former account from my 3DS remove all my data from my 3DS? I don't wan't to lose my friends list or any of my save data from my downloaded games.
If any clarification is needed please tell me, i'd be happy to help
Thanks!
Wii U flashing red light issue (different than most issues with it)
Recently my Wii U has started having its red light flash after leaving the console off for 12+ hours. All I usually do is unplug the power, wait five seconds, and then plug it back in. Then it's fine for another 12 hours or so. It never shuts off while on, so I think it's not a overheating issue? Is this something I should be worried about? Anyone else have this type of issue?
Sports Club License Not Installing
Hi. I downloaded Sports Club and purchased the golf license before launching the game. The funds were subtracted from my account, but when I start up Sports Club it's telling me I only have 20 or so hours remaining in my trial.
Gamepad gyroscope issue?
There is a part early in Rayman Legends where you use the Gampade to have Murfy move a bridge. The gamepad indicates that I tilt it in order to do this, but when I do nothing happens.
Tilt function seems to work with my other games. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is my gamepad messed up?
Has anybody heard of this Wii U/TV issue? Flickering/Black Screens

So I have my Wii U set up, fully updated, and I also fully updated Nintendo Land.
There are times where my screen will just go black for a few seconds and then the image will show back up on the TV.
The TV does not turn off, it seem like its losing the feed from the Wii U.
The Wii U is not turning off because the game is still on the Game Pad.
It has also happened while at the main menu.
No modification to the tv, or to the Wii U.
I'm using the HDMI from Nintendo.
I have tried using a different HDMI slot on the TV, same issue.
After a couple more experiments:
I tried a different, better quality HDMI cable, still getting issues.
I tried a different game in Nintendo Land, still getting issues.
I tried a different game altogether, NSMBU and still getting issues.
I then tried Wii Composite cables, there were no issues playing.
And I used Hulu Plus, did not have any issues.
One thing that I haven't tried is using a different TV. Which won't fix anything, since I can't play it on the TV that I want to play it on.

Suddenlink Digitalink Adapter not working with TVii
I'm trying to use the TVii service on my Wii U on a digital converter box I got from Suddenlink, my cable provider, and I can't seem to find the correct set-top box remote code. The manufacturer seems to be Huawei, and I will provide a link to its specifications. I have three such converter boxes in my house and they all respond to each other's remotes, so I will also provide a link to the Delta remote control that comes with them to assist in finding the correct code. I'm not sure if there is a way to input a remote code manually instead of relying on the presets found in the Wii U System Settings, but none of the presets seem to work. I'm not sure how much overlap there is with these things, so if perhaps another brand or model will work, I'd like to know what it is.

Any help controlling the digital adapter with the Wii U remote would be very appreciated!
Is this a common issue?
Controller backward compatibility for Wii VC
I have a concern with the compatibilty of the controllers with the Wii U, specifically the titles of the virtual console of the Wii part of the Wii U (let's call it the "emulated Wii"), and I would need to know what is my best option. Let me explain:
We recently bought a Wii U, which we absolutely LOVE. However, we had and still have our Wii, on which we downloaded Virtual Console (VC) titles of the N64, SNES and NES. One of them is Mario Party 2 on the N64. We enjoy playing this game 4-player, it being a party game. Back on the Wii, we didn't bother buying any classic controllers as we already owned 4 gamecube controllers, which were compatible with all SNES and N64 VC games. Now that we transfered our Wii data over to the Wii U, you can guess we ran into a small issue: our N64 and SNES titles are unplayable, because the Wii U doesn't support GC controllers and its "emulated Wii" does not support the Wii U Pro controller. When I did the transfer, there were absolutely no mention of this, despite many other warnings. I wish there had been, because I would have reconsidered the transfer (which is not reversible).
I understand that the Wii U is not compatible with GC controllers and that it shouldn't be, this is normal and makes sense. What I don't understand is that the VC on the "emulated Wii" of the Wii U doesn't support the new Wii U Pro controller. Because we often play 4-players on both the Wii U, the Wii and their virtual consoles. This would basically require 15 controllers for a single console (1 Gamepad, 4 Wiimotes, 4 Wii U Pro controller and 4 classic controllers), which is completly ridiculous. After searching a bit, I have considered a few options, for which I need further clarification:
1. GC controller to Wiimote adapters by third parties. However, given the fact that when you start a N64 game on the "emulated Wii" it will not start the game if you only have a Wiimote connected, I wonder if these will actually work for my purpose (will the emulated Wii recognize it as a GC/Classic controller or as a Wiimote, since the signal is ultimately sent by the Wiimote?)
2. GC controller to USB adapter by third parties. Again, will these work on VC titles or are they simply good for Wii titles that enables you to use a GC controller (ex Mario Kart Wii). Their descriptions mentions they are compatible with Wii U, but this doesnt mean they are compatible with the Wii part of the Wii U (in fact, can the "emulated Wii" connect to the USB ports at all? ) Further concern: there are only 3 USB ports on the Wii U. Also, the fact that these adapters, as well as the other ones metionned above cost nearly as mush as the Classic Controllers (around 17$) makes me wonder if they're really worth it.
3. Wait for the WiiShop titles to be ported the the eShop and rebuy them at the discounted price. Some of them already are, and it would give me the opportunity to use only the Wii U Pro controllers. However, they come out at a rather slow rate, and so far not a single N64 title. In fact, is there any guarantee from Nintendo that they will port all the Wii Shop VC titles to the eShop?
4. Buy 4 Classic and 3 Wii Pro controllers (we already have one). I really hope I don't have to do this. We just paid for a new console, having to buy 7 controllers is more than ridiculous and certainly not a good marketing strategy. It would have been so easy to make the Wii U Pro controllers compatible with the emulated Wii on the Wii U. The emulated Wii software was already modified from its original Wii counterpart, all that was needed was to remap the buttons to match the classic controller ones (they are exactely the same!). WHY? Has there been any announcement from Nintendo to update the Wii software to make this compatible?
What's your experience with this? Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Wii U problems connecting to internet (only at night)
I've been having this problem for awhile, yet I have no idea why. Almost everytime when it is late at night(usually around 11:00pm or 12:00amPST/12:00am or 1:00am MST) and I try to connect my Wii U to the internet, I will get an error that says there is no connection point in range even when all of my other devices work including my 3DS. Also by morning it will work again with not problems at all.
Just checked and now my internet seems to be working I think. Still confused why it does keep doing this though.

Sold my first Wii U. Trying to use my Nintendo Network ID on my new one. Help!
Long story short…I bought a Wii U a few months ago and ended up returning it because I needed to money for new tires. I followed the directions that the system gave me to format the Wii U and remove my network ID from it. Fast forward to today…I now have a new Wii U and I'm trying to set it up bit I cannot login with my Nintendo Network ID. I get the error code 102-2591. It tells me that it's already linked to another system. I cannot just create a new one because I want to share it with the same ID that is on my 3DS that has about $100 in eShop credit from the holidays. How do I fix this problem?
problem of connection between the gamepad and wii u
I quietly playing a game when I was called to perform a task. I put my gamepad on my couch and later, when I returned, my gamepad was off. I recharged immediately and since I can not play my games if I'm not in front of the console, otherwise, a message appears telling me that the connection between the gamepad and the console has been lost. I already try to turn off and then turn on the gamepad and sync again but without success. I do not know what to do ... is there a way to resolve the problem without having to remove the battery?
Can you calibrate or reset the Wii Fit U Fit Meter's altimeter?
Hey all. I was wondering if there was a method to reset or recalibrate the Fit Meter's altimeter. I'm sitting here with two of them and one seems to be at a relatively normal 68ft, but the other is dramatically off (right now it's telling me I'm at -278 feet below sea level XD). Is there a way to fix this or did I get a janky meter and just need to return it?
Thanks for any information.
