Wii U Network functions in other countries?

$

Hello,

I already asked about the region lock the Wii U has and the power supply it offers. What I forgot and what maybe can be a solution for the region lock, how will the network work for the Wii U in other countries?

When I would buy a Wii U here in the USA and take it with me to Europe for a period of time, can I still use the network function without problem? Can I also buy (USA) games over the network, so will my US account work?

I have two Wii's, can I transfer both to my new WiiU?

Hello all!

I had a Wii that i used to play on a lot when I was in college, after college I left the console at my parents house and it had a lot of good memories. I moved in with my girlfriend and that was my new console of play.

We purchased the WiiU last week and were able to transfer the data succesfully from hers, question in...

Can I transfer data from my old wii?

There are saved datas from the same game, mario kart wii, super smash brawl, etc. both in my old and new.

How do I make sure everything runs smoothly? can I do this?

Thanks in advance, first time post.

LAN Adapter STOPPED being recognized.

Yesterday morning I was enjoying a round of Monster Hunter online on my Wii U with my LAN cable connection. I have a very poor WiFi despite the service router I purchased, so having a LAN adapter (it isn't by Nintendo, though this isn't important, as it has worked, perfectly, without question) was a godsend. For about a week, I had a rock-solid connection with the LAN cable to the internet, but when I came home last night and decided to fire up the Wii U again, it just ignored the LAN adapter's existence completely. This is really strange, and is driving me stark-raving mad because I haven't physically touched the Wii U in the downtime, and the LAN cable and adapter worked when I tried to connect it to everything else that supported it. Only the Wii U seems to ignore it, despite running like a dream earlier. I could not figure out where to send a support ticket, because apparently this kind of problem does not exit in their drop-down menus.

Help with Wii to Wii U system transfer!

I recently bought a a new Wii U, and I am trying to transfer my data from my old Wii to the Wii U.   The first two steps went off with no problem.

But when it came time to finish the transfer on my Wii U, I ran into a serious issue.  For the past hour, the bar as been stuck at 0% and the Pikmin onscreen are locked in the same animation.   I have already copied all of the data from my Wii, so I'm not sure what to do.  I don't want to lose my Wii save data, shop info, and Virtual Console data, but I think the final part of the transfer is stuck.

Is there anything I can do?  Can I reboot the system without losing my data?

Trouble with a new pro controller (after glow)

I just got a new pro controller yesterday. It was an after glow. I have a wii u and I needed to sync the controller with the system. I did that, but when it comes to clicking on start for our wwe 14 game..the screen for tv or tv game pad comes up. now for some reason the pro controller will not let me select anything, thus I am not able to get past this screen. Am I doing something wrong, or did I miss something about the controller. I can do everything else with it, but when this box comes up, it freezes me in my tracks, thus not being able to get past it to use the controller with the wrestling game..or even getting to start the game up.

Constant Wii U Gamepad Connection Problems POST REPAIR

i've been having the same problem a lot of other users are with my wii u.  my gamepad won't stay connected to it no matter the distance.  it can be on top of the console, three feet away, ten feet away, etcetera, it can't maintain a connection.  i have my console set up in my college dorm, which, i know, has a ton of wireless activity.  the reason why i would like to feel that it's unrelated is because the first month or two when i moved in, it worked perfectly and i had none of these problems.  all of a sudden, the connection issue started plaguing my system and i can't use my gamepad at all.  if i'm extremely lucky i can use it for a matter of minutes before it disconnects; otherwise it cuts out immediately.  so, after looking tirelessly through various forums trying to find a solution, i decided to call nintendo and they told me i should send it in for repair.  i did, and they swapped my gamepad out.  a little over two weeks later, i got it back.  i was really looking forward to it because i haven't yet been able to play Windwaker HD AND Super Mario 3D World comes out in under two weeks which i'm so ready for.  much to my surprise, the brand new gamepad is having the same problems as soon as i turn it on.  they didn't swap out the console so it could be that, or it could be something related to my college dorm environment.  i really don't know.  both of these are the from the wii u basic package.  if anyone has any new or helpful information on this subject, please reply with any suggestions you may have.  really sick of this issue

Wii menu on Wii U resolution problem

$

Hi there,

I've been having some problems with Wii mode on my Wii U, when I go to the Wii menu the resolution gets all choppy and pixelated. When I'm using it as the Wii U, it's fine (I have it set to 720p, which works best for my TV). The Wii U menu and Wii U games look great, but as soon as I go to play a Wii game the Wii menu and games look bad.

Back when I was using a Wii (before I purchased the Wii U) it looked fine, the games were nice and smooth (I'm using the same TV) but now that I'm trying to play those same games on the Wii U, they look a lot worse.

*NOTE: I have tried changing the resolution settings and it's not working.

If anyone else is having this problem please let me know, especially if you have figured out how to fix this, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks

I Found a Website that Sells Nintendo eShop Cards Digitally - Is it Legit?

Alright, so just last week I went to the eShop on my Wii U to add $20 to my account to pre-order the Mario Kart 8 DLC. I used my debit card from VISA; unfortunately, it didn't work. I tried twice, and after the 2nd attempt, I phoned Nintendo to see what was going on. Apparently, the eShop doesn't accept cards outside of the US and Canada, and since I live in the Bahamas; I was out of luck. Nobody here sells the eShop cards, so I was left with the option to order one from Amazon. Not only are they overpriced, but it'd take $20 EXTRA to import it here. As you can see, it's just too much to pay.

After some hunting, I found this website: http://www.pcgamesupply.com/buygames/Nintendo-Wii-Points-Card/

They claim to digitally send the code to you and just like the physical card, you use the code to add funds to your account. Certainly 100x better than spending all that money to have one shipped to me overseas. Here's the issue though; I was wondering if this is legit. I don't want to hand my money over to this website only to be scammed. Has anyone heard of/used this website before? If so, how was your experience? And even if you've never used this site; do you know of any that sells eShop cards for NTSC territory, digitally?

Hi,

I think it woul be a great adittion to the app, to have te possibility to listen netflix's app audio from headphones connected to the gamepad, watching on a tv.

Just like the YouTube App.

This would be great to watch your favourite netflix shows at night (wife and kids asleep) on a decent tv screen (muted), while listening the audio stream thru headphones.

Wii U internet problems

Ok so I got a Wii U recently and linked my 3DS and Wii U NNIDs. I'm hooked up to the internet and I can go to Miiverse and whatnot but I can't access my friend list on the Wii U and anytime I attempt to use something like Animal Crossing Plaza or a game that posts to Miiverse I get a "Can't connect to server" error. Also it seems that I am considered "offline" in my 3DS friend list now even though I'm clearly connected to the internet. The error is 101-0502 but nothing on the support page for that is relevant. The rest of the info the error gives me is as follows. 1. 5.2.0 U, 2. WUP-101(02), 3. FW106051104, 4. ADBI-0210-3075 . Has anyone else run into this? Any tips to fix it? If not I suppose I can live with it, it still works for the most part. Not being able to do things that interact with my friends list and what have you is kind of a huge problem though.

Why can't I connect to the Beatles DLC to re-download my purchased songs since doing my Wii U transfer?

I did my Wii U transfer on June 30th.  I was able to get on the Rock Band 2/3 DLC site and re-download all of my purchased content there but when I try to go to the Beatles DLC it will not connect.  It says it is connecting to play the songs but will not to the Music Store.  Is there a way to connect so i can get my music back?

Wii U Youtube App Times Out Every time now

$

Hey, first time posting.

So I used to use my Youtube app all the time. It was amazing. I loved watching videos on my tv.

Suddently now that we've had some updates or whatever, the youtube app will ALWAYS time out on me. My wii u is literally 12 feet away from my wireless router, it should not be timing out. However it will play a video for about 2 minutes before stopping the video (while the audio still goes) and a small rotating circle appears on my Gamepad to tell me its trying to do something, then it just cuts me out to the Youtube menu and I have to find the video all over again. This is broken!

I ordered the ethernet adapter and hopefully it works. Nintendo, why do you put such a weak wireless adapter in your systems? My router has no problems broadcasting great wireless signal strength to my phones and tablets, so why can't the Wii U get a stable connection when its 12 feet away? Please just include the ethernet port in your next system. Wireless is garbage.

Wii U Game pad Stick little problem.

Hello everyone.

I've been having a little problem with the left stick of my Wii U Game Pad and it is most noticeable in games like Super Mario 3D World where when starting to play my character start walking by himself upwards and it is specially difficult to stay in mobile platforms where I need my character stay still to avoid falling and in menus where when I just want to move to the right or left it goes up too.
My Wii U is almost new and it is only used by me and my wife. We bought it when the Mario Kart 8 bundle was available and, it looks in great shape (so does the stick, it does not look damaged or twisted) so I don't know what is happening. The only way I've found to "fix" it is closing the software I'm on, turning off the Wii U, wait a bit and then, before turning it on again, I move the stick downwards to "help" it stay in its place then release the stick and turning it on, insert the software to play and "cross fingers" it was done right. Most of the time it works but it is very annoying having to do it that way instead of just playing right away without worrying about something like that.
Any ideas on what it could be causing that and how to really fix it? I appreciate any help/tip.

Thank you very much in advance.

A fellow Nintendo gamer family

Wii U and Malware :: Can the Wii U get infected???

$

Hey!!!  I'm just here to tell you that a lot of Wii U owners have been wondering something: Can the Wii U system get infected by malware???  Well, I'm here to tell you the answer. NO. THE WII U CONSOLE CANNOT GET INFECTED BECAUSE THE WII U IS A PROPRIETARY SYSTEM.  Although, in some cases the Wii U could spread malware to Android devices and computers.  Writing code for Wii U malware would take a lot of time and energy.  That was your Got It Quick Tech Lesson!!!!!

Wii U was stolen, what can I do to protect my account and purchases?

$

To provide some background, it happened approximately a half-hour before I posted this. I was on my way home from a friend's house who I had visited. The Wii U was in the trunk of my car and I was inside for no more than 45 minutes. The kicker is, they didn't break anything, so I have no way of proving that they forcefully entered. Anyways, I went to check on the Wii U after I noticed in their frantic search for something valuable they forgot to put back all the papers and various item I have in my car to their rightful places. So, now that I have given some insight into the regrettable situation, what can I do as a customer to protect myself? For instance, I'm obviously going to call to see if I can cancel my purchasing option through the eShop without having to use my now stolen system.

I've already planned to make the proper calls to Nintendo Customer Service as soon as their lines are open for callers. Going to the police to report it is also an option, but one that I don't see much merit in, since they did not damage the car and also because I'm sure the feds could care less about a game system when other, more urgent crimes are taking place. I would welcome any suggestions at this point.

Thank you for taking the time to read this/help me.

Wii U freezes when launching Wii game?

$

So I've been having this problem since I recently updated to 5.2.0. My Wii U will consistently (but not always) freeze when trying to launch a Wii game. If it can make it past this point it runs fine, but I have not been able to find a guaranteed method to do so.

Everything else works, such as launching apps, virtual console games, and Wii U games. Entering Wii mode poses no problems either. It's just that 90% of the time trying to launch a Wii game causes the system to freeze on a black screen. Anybody have any ideas to fix this?

Wii U Power cord issues

$

I've just discovered that my 2nd Wii U power cord has bit the dust and will not power my Wii U.

This is rather frustrating as my 1st power cord died about 27 days after the original manufacturers 1yr warrarnty thus I had to buy a new one at full price. The new cord worked fine for 7 or 8 months (need to check how long it has been) then suddenly this morning - nothing (yet it worked fine last night).

We only get to use our Wii once every 2-3 weeks due to our busy schedule so to have it die repeatedly with very minimal use seems really odd.

When I read the official warranty info on this site, I now read that the replacement power cord (accessory) doesn't come with the same 1yr warranty that the original unit did and only has a 90 day warranty! (like you might expect a refurbished device to have)

I have power cords/bricks for laptops, X-Boxes, Playstations, Gameboys,  and every tablet/smartphone you can imagine (through my work) and none  of them have failed even once.

So my question is... is this really true? only a 90 day warranty? Why is there no faith in the lifespan of these accessories?... how can I get a proper warranty for this and a deep discount on a replacement accessory that shouldn't fall apart so soon?

Wii U Gamecube Adapter - Game compatibility?

Hello everyone,

I have just pre-ordered the SSB bundle for the Wii U with the Gamecube adapter and I am wondering if I will be able to play other games with the Gamecube controllers, i.e. playing Mario Kart 8 with 4 GC controllers? If yes, is there a list of games that will be supported?

Thank you!

Can I use a Wii U Pro Controller or a Wiimote to navigate the Wii U menu?

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this.

Do I need to use the Wii U Gamepad to go through the Wii U menu, or can I use a Wii U Pro Controller or Wiimote to use the Wii U menu?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
