This is an attempt to give FEEDBACK to nintendo, as i cant find any other way of doing so.
here we are again, nintendo is getting ready to release prime trilogy for wii u. I would be extremely excited if it had gamepad controlability. No i dont mean point and shoot with the stylus, im talking about dual joy stick control, or pro controller features.
metroid prime and echoes are hands down my favorite games ever. Ill never get bored of them. I have them both on gc discs that i use with my wii. the wii seamed to feature only wii controller and nunchuck usage for pretty much ALL its games, and this is the single reason that for me, personally, the wii is the worst console of the few i have owned. (Even the sega saturn)
i am a casual yet competative payer, and kinda lazy. Silly things like needing to keep my arm up in a certain position to aim is just stupid.
having said so, prime 3, while having great puzzle elements, sucked. Whelp now i will be burned by the mobs for saying so. Not only was it dumbed down, graphics were terrible, (worse than prime one) but everything was cartoony and i hated that. (Probably why i think the graphics sucked. Rather, the graphics were good but the esthetics sucked.) on top of that you have motion controlls. Ive never played a game where i thought, " i wish i could immitate the action my character on screen is performing." Nope, not once. So why was it that people covet the crappy motion controls? No, really im confused about that. I find the gc controlls for prime much much more intuitive and easier to use.
bottom line is, if the trilogy doesnt have control schemes other than the wii motion controls, then i wont buy it. Ill stick with my gc version with 4:9....
so far i have found every wii u game ive played to be much better because i didnt have to worry if my controller was pointed directly at my stupid tv or not. The tablet isma great idea. Motion controls were not.
am i alone? Am i a heretic in a pool of pirhanas? Will i be burned at the stake for my opinions or are there some of you out there who feel the same way?
the thing is, i want mpt, but not at the cost of the experience. Remember, i find gc's clunky controls far superior to wii mote.
I just want to play Smash online with less lag... Apparently, if you use a USB lan adapter it's much better. Unfortunately, Nintendo no longer sells their official ones, I could get a used one but I'm not really a fan of preowned products. I found these two:
eForCity USB 2.0 Lan Adapter
Monochrome USB Lan Adapter
The eForCity one is recommended in a gaming site but there's a Youtube video that shows the functionality of the Monochrome adapter. Personally, I prefer the Monochrome one in terms of looks, but I want to hear opinions/experiences.
I download it. try booting it up and get this error. error 169-2793, how do i fix this. tried redownloading it still get the same error.
Pretty much what the topic says. I bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the eShop, it downloaded to my USB hard drive, and when I try to load the game here's what happens:
- Screen goes black.
- Gamepad shows white Wii logo briefly, like it does when you run Wii Mode
- After ~10 seconds, the external hard drive clicks off.
- After 2-3 minutes, the Wii U reboots.
I can fix the problem by moving the game to the System Memory, and from there it loads just fine. But the game is 1.4GB, and my system memory is already pretty close to full. Is there any way to fix this? I'd like to buy more Wii games when they become available, but not if I can only run them off the system memory.
Before anyone says "your external hard drive is broken", I have plenty of other Wii U retail, Wii U download only, and Virtual Console games on there now, and they all load just fine.
Any help would be appreciated!
I have the wii u game just dance 2015, and a wii u microphone.
The problem I have is that I can not hear anything said/sung into the microphone through the tv speakers.
However; the game displays that it is registering sound from the microphone by way of a sound meter rising and falling and the game 'scoring' the accuracy of singing along... Ok, good, perfect.
I only have the one game compatable for the microphone.
I have tried both USB ports on the wii u and tried adjusting the audio settings from the wii u home menu; surround, stereo, monaural.
I have also tried adjusting the audio settings on the tv.
I contacted the technical support number included with the microphone and recieved no help.
Is there anything I can do besides exchange the microphone and try again?
My Wii U gamepad is increasingly not turning the console on when I hit the gamepad's power button. It gives me an error screen and says to move closer and try again. But even right next to the console, it won't turn it on when this happens.
Console turns on fine with Wiimotes however, gamepad always works fine when I hit the power button on the console itself, no gamepad communication issues like the video stream cutting out, and the gamepad power button turns the console off just fine everytime without fail.
It was fine when I got this last Christmas and was fine for a number of weeks afterwards, but the probelm has grown to where the gamepad almost never turns the console on anymore. Any tips? I don't understand what sort of technical issue this is since the gamepad and console obviosly can communicate to each other just fine. It's just that prompt to boot the console that isn't working.
I've been using an external drive to save my games ever since I bought my Wii U. Everything was working very well until the week before Sm4sh came out. I turned on the console and despite the drive spinning and the light coming on, my games wouldn't appear on the screen, and the console didn't even seem to think there was a Wii U formatted drive plugged in.
I tried turning the console on and off a few times, switched USB ports, but nothing worked. The internet seemed to think that the problem came from a game update during one of those standby functions. In fact, When I checked the download menu, there was a failed update for MK8 which probably corrupted the drive. I tried deleting it, but it still didn't help. I agreed that the only thing to do was to have the Wii U reformat the drive. I was kind of sad for all my game progress, but I figured that these things happen and it would have been much worse if it were a different console or my pc games. I also will never use standby functions again. I really loved having ready to play, updated games when I wanted them, just like Steam.
Everything works now, but I've got an annoyance. Sometimes when I start up the console, all the games will be there, very nice. Other times the screen grays and the hard drive symbol comes up in the corner. Then it goes away, but the games still aren't there. I know from experience that I should just leave it alone until it gives a don't plug or unplug drives in while the console is powered error (even though I haven't touched the drive) and then soft resets. It then works. So it always works, I just get annoyed because sometimes I have to wait for a minute or two because it seems to think the drive was unplugged.
My Wii U Pro controller only works when it's charger is plugged in. If it comes unplugged, it will sometimes start not working properly. If I don't push anything on the controller, the game will still do something like I am pushing something (for example: Kirby will duck even though I'm not pushing down). I tired taking the battery back out, waiting a bit and putting it back in. But that didn't work. Did I not do it for long enough? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
So I was playing smash for wii u earlier, and I noticed when pressing buttons, there was a bit of lag with both visuals, and sound.
So I tried comparing the TV's audio, and visuals, with my gamepad. On the gamepad, it was perfect. Absolutely no visual lag, or audio lag. But my TV was slow to deliver both.
I went into my settings (on TV) and found "Lip sync" setting. But the bad news is, is that I could only delay the audio even more. It didn't allow me speed up the audio. So basically, every setting on my TV, would only make the problem worse.
Is there some other way to fix the visual, and sound lag?
I currently live in Japan and I've been trying to play Smash Wii U online and the connection is absolutely terrible. I recently discovered that my opponents have always been players from the USA. How can I change it so I can just match up against people in Japan, because that would make so much sense right now. I wouldn't have to connect to people on the otherside of the globe . Does this have to do with my Wii U coming from the USA? I need a work around because online is really good. It's just these pairings are rediculous!
Yesterday when I unplugged my GamePad AC adapter from the wall socket, the socket sparked and caused a short circuit. This is the first time any charger for any product of mine has ever done this. While the socket is pretty old, it is normally in fine condition, and like I said, this has never happened to me before. After reading up on short circuits, I discovered that one of the big causes is the plug getting too hot and melting away the insulation. Before, I've noticed that after a few hours, the AC adapter plug gets too hot to touch- I could only touch the outside for a few seconds before I got burned. All my other chargers (including the DS and 3DS chargers) just get a bit warm, but never too hot to touch. Basically, I think the adapter getting too hot melted away the insulation in the socket and caused a short circuit.
If this is the case, is it a defect in my particular AC adapter, or a problem in all GamePad AC adapters? Are there any steps that I can take to prevent the plug from overheating and causing more short circuits? If it's relevent at all, the AC adapter is the one that came with the Deluxe set, which I got in 2012. It was plugged into the charging cradle with the GamePad on the cradle at the time when I unplugged the adapter and caused the short circuit, but I've done the exact same thing with the GamePad and the 3DS multiple times and nothing happended until today.
Ever since I bought my wii u back in November I have been having problems with my wii u pad unsycing and being asked to turn off the pad and move it closer to the console and try again..How ever I have never been farther then about 5 feet from the cosole at any time, and when I turn off the pad and turn it back on even if im right next to the sensor it still gives the same error. I have to actually hold the power button on my wii u to get it to work again. Does any one have any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it?
Hello,
My Fit Meter will not turn on when I hold down the center button.
I believe my battery is dead as I bought my fit meter soon after it was released, Novemer 1st or 2nd, 2013 (with the Wii Fit U promo).
Does anybody know where to get a new battery?
Thanks,
Retronomics
Other websites, including Nintendo, Facebook, etc, work fine.
3DS and WiiU consoles give out error codes like 015-3015 that the Error code lookup system does not recognize.
Checked Network status, WiiU& 3DS services are fine, and no Miiverse maintainence.
I've had my Wii U for about a month, and I've had a problem with the screen blacking out during gameplay. It usually happens for about five seconds or so, and only once or twice each time I play. I've concluded that it has something to do with the HDMI port, because one time it blacked out until I messed with the HDMI cord, then it went to a distorted screen, then finally back to normal. It's not the cord, because I've tried a different cord and it still occurs. It's not a huge deal, but it's inconvenient and I don't want it getting worse. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Also, what should I do to fix it? I bought it new from GameStop without a warranty. Thanks.
so the other night i tried to download Citizens of Earth from the wiiu eshop. when trying to download the game i get error code 111-1006 which will boot me from the eshop and leave e with the main menu on the tv and as if i had pushed the home button on the gamepad... when trying to open back up the eshop directly after i get another error code 105-3703. i've looked up both error codes on this sites error code look up one says the eshop is unavailable and the other apparently the search doesnt know what the code is for and says the cycle the routers power...ive been doing this for 2-3 days straight (today is the third)... am i doing something wrong is there an issue with downloading citizens of earth? the network status page says all consoles eshop should be working fine...
I just downloaded the Metroid Prime Trilogy to the hard drive of my Wii U. It says that its all ready to go, but when I boot it up, use the wiimote to click "ok" it starts to load (gives me the safety, dont throw your controller into the tv, screen) then just turns off. Is anyone else having this issue? What did you do to fix it?
I downloaded Punch Out from the eshop to my Seagate Expansion 2TB 3.5 inch external hard drive with external power. The hard drive is on the compatible list, and it works flawlessly with all other eshop and full retail game downloads.
When I try to load Punch Out, the TV screen goes black, the gamepad goes black, and the Wiimote turns off. I have to pull the power cord to get the Wii U to reset, as no buttons work other than eject?
This is doing the exact same thing while trying to boot up Super Mario Galaxy that I downloaded last week. When I moved the files to the Wii U hard drive everything boots up just fine.
Has anyone else run in to these problems?
Does anyone know if Nintendo is actively trying to fix this.
A week or two ago I accidentally lost the connection of the gamepad to the Wii U console when playing Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Ever since then the gamepad gets error 165-6596 whenever I play SSB and ONLY SSB; all of the Wii U's core features function fine, including the Wii emulation system. The only other game I have, New Super Mario Bros. U, works fine without ANY trouble.
I've done some research and it seems it may have to do with the Amiibo function (although I never got a chance to actually use it). Nintendo has not given a response which means this issue is either very rare (I still found a dozen victims pretty easily), or it's being ignored for some reason.
