Wii U warranty and repair

$

0

I have a Wii U that i recently signed up to be repaired. Seems my 2 yr old son decided to put coins in the dsic slot. I am no longer in warranty and have to pay for the repair. Roughly $99. I looked online at do-it-yourself videos and the screwdriver i would need, the tri-flex screwdriver is only $4.99. I beleive that i can safely remove the casing and remove the coins,

My question is regarding nintendo policy. I have had some compnies that wil not repair a devvice after someone else has entered into it. I'm not worried about having to pay for another repair, if i open it and can't remove the coins or removing them doesn't repair it, will nintendo still take it in to fix it themselves?

Error 165-6596 Wii U amibo

OK so here's my dilemma... Basically same story as everybody who gets this error code. Contacted Nintendo blah blah blah. "It will cost $100". Annnndddd.... I don't think so. I didn't anything anyone has tried that I've seen so far. I even went above and beyond and completely cleared my system and tried a full blown reinstall. Basically me and the kids were playing splatoon and out of nowhere my sons pro controller started running by itself then the error popped up on my gamepad.  Automatic sign it's a software issue. There was no new updates or anything like that. Long story short it's definitely due to the NDS or what ever it's called in the game pad... I basically contact Nintendo and they were oblivious of what to do besides sending it in but I've also heard stories to where people sent them in got them fixed got them back and months later the same issue occurred. I'm putting this out there in hopes that somebody knows what to do about this.

Sucks because it's a week over 1 years old and it died. Now Nintendo wants $116 to repair it.

Mario Maker Not Unlocking New Tools

So I'm on my third day of playing and I noticed when I logged in today, no tool set unlocked for me. It unlocked for my daughter and my wife but under my profile, the toolset was not available. I have tried restarting the game. I'm not sure how to get it to work but I'm tired of seeing the same two toolbar sets. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks!

Btw, I've clocked TWICE the amount of time of gameplay as the rest of my family.

Error Code: 115-3028 Unable to upload levels (Super Mario Maker) or upload anything to MiiVerse

I've searched high and low for a cause or possible solution to this problem and have found no information about it. When looking up this error code (115-3028) on the technical support website, it shows no results.

What's happening is every time I try to upload a created level in Super Mario Maker, it will say "uploading" and after about two minutes this error code pops up. I've tried multiple times, different times of the day, restarting the system, making sure all parental controls are unlocked, making sure the system software and the game are up to date, resetting my connection settings, and restarting my network. Nothing seems to help.

The same thing applies when attempting to even comment on a user's created level. I've also noticed the inability to upload screenshots or make posts on MiiVerse. Same error.

What's strange is that I can download levels, access the web browser (which I'm using to post this), the Eshop, and among other things just fine. "Uploading" seems to be the only issue the system is having.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

WiiU Download Issue/Error

I just got a new WiiU for my birthday today!
It replaces my old one, Ninty already transferred my Account to it.
However, I'm having an issue with it.
When I download a game to the External Western Digital 2TB Hard Drive, I keep getting an error code telling me that the Data is corrupt.
It tells me to turn off the system and try again.
I do so and it still happens.
I called Ninty this morning and they tried to help but the only thing they told me was not to redownload all of my old software at once... (This Unit replaces my old one)
So, I did that and it is fine for the smaller VC games.
But it still does it for the WiiU Retail Download games.
So, now, I'm downloading with the External Hard Drive unplugged directly to the WiiU. Then I have to turn off the System, plug in the External Hard Drive and transfer over everything.
Has anyone else had this problem?

This is the one I am using:

Wii U Gamepad's Touch Screen is Responding by Itself?

$

Recently I started to notice that apps on the Wii U Menu would start up by themselves. It turns out it is my touchscreen automaticlly clicking on the screen. The top right specifically. Not only the Wii Menu but this happens in all games that I play as well. (I can't seem to start a match of splatoon without jumping to the same teammate the whole match). It seems to be doing this whenever I apply a certain amount of pressure to the right side of the gamepad. I have no idea what the issue is or if theres a way to stop this. I already tried recalibrating the screen, and it didn't seem to help at all. I don't want to resort to replacing the gamepad or spending money to get it fixed.

Thanks.

Wii U cannot connect to wifi or router

Hi, I'm having trouble with either my Wii U, my internet connection or possibly my router, or maybe my game.

My Wii U started having wifi problems. It was working just fine the time I got it (which was last Christmas). I was able to connect to online services for a good while and had a few wifi troubles but it usually fixes itself. Few months later I was playing Mario Kart 8 online and it also played smoothly until one day it starts lagging and soon disconnects me. I checked my settings and I couldn't connect to my router and I tried connecting with other devices and it wouldn't connect either so I switched to another router I had (It's a modem with a built-in router) after that I tried connecting and it sorta worked but I still lagged and disconnected. I soon ordered a Wii LAN adapter to see if that'll work. I tried connecting it to my first router but it forgot it didn't work so I tried my modem/router and it didn't work I was still lagging and disconnecting so I reset my modem/router and I was able to connect to my first router. Nothing worked at all. I didn't even try to connect to my modem/router. My router was fixed but the signal to my Wii U was still messed up.I figured it was because of the distance between my Wii U and my routers so as my last resort, I moved my first router into my room and so far everything worked! I was able to connect to the router and I no longer really needed my LAN adapter so I put it aside, I was able to go on online services and play MK8 smoothly (though I lagged a few times but it sorta fixed itself and it soon stopped) Around the beginning of this month, I was playing MK8 online again and suddenly I started to lag and it disconnects me. Sometimes I could play a few races online then I disconnect. Every time I disconnect I check my internet settings on my Wii U and do a connection test and it says I can connect to the internet and I can go on online services such as Miiverse but I still kept disconnecting from playing online. I soon couldn't even start the race without disconnecting. I can enter online but as soon as I get into a lobby with other players an error pops up and I disconnect. Yesterday I tried playing it again to see if it's fixed and I get online but right in the middle of a race I lag and disconnect and still the same results. I soon wasn't able to connect to my router anymore even though my Wii U can see it. Today, I did a connection test again and I could connect to the internet (but I didn't trust it)  I tried using my LAN adapter again to see if it'll fix it and it wouldn't even work or connect to my router (when plugging an ethernet cord in the router a little light below the port will glow and it didn't) I I tried shutting my Wii U off and on and it still didn't work, I even used my computer to see if it was just my ethernet cord but no, my router responded when I used my computer. So I removed my LAN adapter and tried to do one more connection test without it and now my Wii U can't find a wifi network. It's weird because my router is right next to it.I can apparently connect with other devices but not that. I tried resetting it and everything. I tried EVERYTHING to try to get it to work. I tried looking up online, but many of the things I find are from years ago and I couldn't really find a solution anyway I tried push button setup but it won't let me connect. I tried doing it manually and it didn't seem to work either. I give up.

Can anyone help me PLEASE? I'm not sure if it's my Wii U, my router or my MK8 game itself (I doubt it would be my game or the servers because it seems that other people can go online just fine but me) like I said my Wii U was conneting to the internet just fine once I moved my router right next to my Wii U and now it's not even working I have a linksys router by the way.

Please, can anyone have any possible solutions? I could REALLY use the help. The things I tried isn't working. I just want to play online and connect to the internet

2 NNID Accounts, Could I swap the names?

$

Hello, when I first got the Wii U, my father named my NNID account clanH5. I didn't really care at first, but now I see how big the NNID service has gotten, and I don't like that name. I recently made a second account with my desired name, Brocoee, but soon after, I realized there is no way to transfer purchases and data from one account to the other. Also, my clanH5 account is linked to my new 3ds xl majoras mask edition, and I can't transfer the ID to my old 3ds because they aren't compatible. I just desperately want the 2 names swapped, that way I can have my newly desired name on the same account that has all my valuable purchases and data. (gameplay logs, exclusive downloads, etc.) Is there any way the staff could access this information and switch the two names? I know I seem like a bother but it would REALLY make me glad. Please please help me, I can safely provide any information you need on either account, in case you need proof of ownership. Thankyou for reading!

Wii U freezing while using Youtube App

$

I have made a habit of buying videos though google play because I could watch them using the Wii U's youtube app ( so I can watch the videos on my tv ), this has been great until today.

Today, I have had it freeze up while watching the video several times.  This is not something simple like the video loading or something.  Sound and video stop, and then a few moments later the whole system stops responding and has to be force shut down from using the power button on the console.  If I am quick, once the video freezes, I have a few seconds where I can press the home button, and I'll be able to use the tools on the home screen such as the web browser, but if I ever exit the home menu, the freezing completes and it has to be reset.  During that time, using the power button on the gamepad only shuts off the game pad.

At first, this was no big deal.  I would get up every so often and reboot the wiiu and go on with my life.  After this happened a few times though, they started geting more frequent.  It would happen back to back in less then 5 minutes.  It gets pretty aggravating to have to skip back to the same portion on the video 5 or six times to finish a video.

I moved youtube off the external harddrive thinking that would help out, but it did not.  Do y'all have any other suggestions on what I can do?

Wii/WiiU compatibility

Hello, I've recently received a good offer to buy a WiiU, the problem is that I'd only receive the console itself no controllers, power cable...

I own a Wii fully equipped with some controllers, could I use the Wii accessories on the WiiU? Power cable, sensor bar...I know it was necessary a Wii controller to open the main menu and the games, is it the same on WiiU?

Basically, can I make a game run on WiiU with just the console, old Wii cables and its controller?

I'lluse a GameCube controller to play so Wii plus won't be an issue. Thank you for your answers

Gamepad issues with Super Mario Maker

Hoping that someone can help or tell me what I'm doing wrong. I just downloaded the game through my bundle code (actually just bought the Wii U specifically FOR this game.) Downloaded the update, fired it up and started playing. Did the little 5 second run through the tutorial level before the "looks like someone didn't finish the course" message pops up to lead you into the actual building/making portion of the tutorial. One big problem--my gamepad virtually stops working at this point. Up and down work on the D-Pad and Joystick and the touchscreen works and that is literally it. Mario/the camera does not move right. Start and select does nothing. The shoulder buttoms do nothing. A, B, X & Y do nothing.

Some other observations that hopefully help guide me towards an answer/resolution:

I am able to move the camera if I use a Wii Remote. The second I press anything on the Wii U Gamepad, Mario moves all the way back to the beginning of the level without me touching anything.(He technically moves past the start of the level until he is as far as he can go to the left part of the screen.)

The joystick gives off the impression that it is stuck to the left, but I assure you it is not. It works for other games, it works for menu navigation and it worked for that 5 second "play" at the beginning of the tutorial of Super Mario Maker itself (I can freely move him left or right and the buttons to run and jump work just fine.) Only when I enter the builder/maker mode of the tutorial does this issue start.

Since none of the buttons work, the only way I can exit the tutorial is by doing a hard close of the game itself.

I've restarted the game and my Wii U several times to no avail. Same issue everytime. Can anyone please help so I can finally start enjoying the game?

Thanks!

Odd Wii U gamepad problem

Hi. Okay, so about about a week ago I changed rooms and unplugged my wii u and everything for moving. When I set everything back on the wii u, the game pad wasn't working. It works on the screen that shows all the Miis running around, all the buttons and sticks seem to work fine on that screen, but on the wii u menu app screen or quick start screen no buttons or the touchscreen or analog stick inputs seem to work. weirdly enough when I play games everything seems to work fine except the touch screen. Which for games like supersmash isn't a problem but for others it is. Any advice on what the problem may be.

My friend bought a copy of Splatoon a few days after launch and his sister accidentally cracked it in half. It wasn't a scratch, It is literally cracked in half. Obviosly there isn't a way to fix it but can I get a replacement disc for it? Nintendo used to do like 3 month warrantys on gamecube discs.

Hello, I came from Indonesia,
I would like to buy Wii U, there is no Nintendo representative in my country, and they did not have forum also, so I post here.

Where should I buy Wii U?
some friends suggested buy US Wii U through some game shop , but one of my family member lives in Australia , I heard Wii U is region locked.
so if I bought game from Australia, can it run in US Wii U? or vice versa?

How many region is Wii U? because my Country is in South East Asia, which is mean near to Australia region , or Asia Pacific Region , or even US region because some console sold in my country is US region.
