I wanted to report a technical problem with Twilight Princess HD for Wii U regarding input lag in the game (as in, a button is pressed, and the game's response is delayed on the TV). Before I go any further, I've tested the game on my HDTV and an old CRT television. The CRT should be lagless, but the lag I'm experiencing on the HDTV is carrying over, so it is very clearly a problem on the programming side. I've also tested the Wii version of the game from 2006 on my HDTV, and the lag is not present there, either. I've done my homework. Now, the instances of lag...
I've noticed a delay when forward rolling, releasing arrows (very slight), and sword swinging/wolf attacking (especially wolf attacking). It's weird...especially considering that sidesteps and leap attacks with the sword all seem very responsive, as do other functions. It's a mixed bag. And it's unfortunate. Nintendo always polishes these control woes out of their games, but Twilight Princess HD flew under the radar, I guess. I also worry that, had this been a game demanding quick reflexes such as a Mario or Star Fox...such lag would render the games near unplayable.
I hope this is an issue that can be fixed through an update, as it does take a player out of the game when they realize their actions on screen are slower than they should be.
